The leaders of Turkey and Iran underlined their support for the Hamas terrorist organization on Wednesday, launching bitter attacks against both Israel and its Western allies on the sidelines of a summit meeting in Uzbekistan.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi made their comments while attending the meeting in Tashkent of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which brings together Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and other nations in central Asia.
While the intensifying conflict in Gaza was not the focus of the meeting, Erdoğan and Raisi arrived in Tashkent determined to make Israel’s military response to the Oct. 7 Hamas pogrom in southern Israel its main focus.
In his speech to the summit, the Turkish leader called on Muslim countries to “raise our voices together to defend our Palestinian cause,” targeting Western countries for their alleged “hypocrisy.”
“The Israeli administration, which has the full support of Western countries … is bombing schools, hospitals, churches, universities, and civilian settlements,” Erdoğan stated.
“Western countries, which constantly talk about human rights, freedoms, and democracy, are watching all these Israeli massacres from afar,” he added…

Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan would seem to be natural allies as the principle non-Arab nations between Europe and India.
Populations are Turkey, 85 million; Iran, 88 million; and Pakistan, 231 million. Their collective population would be over 400 million, and with Azerbaijan and other Central Asian nations close to half a billion.
Turkey and Iran are not of the same cloth and Iran is Shiite for sure. And radical, they don’t particularly care for each other and Sunni and Shiite each consider each other infidels. But they share a common enemy. Israel, and all of the west.
That said, Nato will never agree to remove turkey from its ranks. Will never happen. But there is a way:
Turkey clearly considers the west and enemy. Europe included. There is only one recourse and action that will remove Turkey from Nato.
Since most of the money for Nato comes from the US all we have to do is issue an ultimatum to All the Nato signatories.
“You must remove Turkey from Nato or the United States will both stop funding Nato and leave.” If Nato refuses to remove turkey, they loose the majority of their funding. No other recourse
We must stop funding Nato until Turkey is removed from it. There is no other way ...Nato either looses most of its funding and all those pretty little flying toys or Nato forces Turkey out.
I wonder if our lawmakers have thought of this?
