Same. Had a very mild case.
Works for seasonal allergies as well.

A cold beer and natural immunity does the same thing.
Why were you writing me and passing on "untrue" information. A virus is a different kind of germ."
And then there's chicken soup.
When I got older, we loved honey and lemon "tea" and Vit C...
Honey and lemon is still a favorite.

“God, I knew this 55 years ago.”
No kidding. Un-effing believable, isn’t it?
I’ve used Betadine gargle and nasal spray. You can make your own from cheap Povidone Iodine from the local pharmacy diluted 90% (or is it 99%? better check that).
The school nurse at my high school (1960 - 1964) prescribed this for everyone presenting with a cold.
Screw that, ivermectin as a prophylactic, hydroxychloroquine and zinc for treatment if symptoms develop.
You knew how to treat COVID 55 YEARS AGO??? Wholly moses, I need to have you pick a lottery number for me.
Who didn’t know that using a saline rinse in the nose usually alleviates cold/flu symptoms?
Shhhh. Don’t tell anyone about a sock slathered in Vicks wrapped around the neck secured with a huge safety pin.
Loose lips sink ships.
Be sure to use non-iodinized salt. Most grocery stores carry it. I have recurrent issues with nasal infections. There are some simple recipes on the web.
Also, Dr. McCullough recommends using Providone-Iodine solution. (I at times add a small amount to my solution.)
Why non-iodinized salt if you’re adding iodine to it?
Keep reading, that’s only for decongestant nasal sprays-because they can cause rebound swelling in the tissue leading to more congestion, thus more use of the spray.
“ These sprays have different brand names, but the two main active ingredients are oxymetazoline and pseudoephedrine.
Are decongestant nasal sprays addictive?
Yes. These sprays can cause a so-called “nasal spray addiction” in some people.
This often occurs when a person uses the decongestant nasal spray too frequently or for too long.
Strictly, this is rebound congestion and not an addiction.”
There are cautions about not swallowing it.
When I was a child they took out my tonsils and adenoids out.
They have quit doing that now, but at the time it was to keep you from getting colds and flue.
Salt Water Gargling, Nasal Irrigation May Keep a COLD From Worsening
You are a Paid Shill of Big Salt. And so is everyone else who promotes this.
“...passing on “untrue” information...”
A germ is a cell. A virus is not. All living things are made up of cells. A cell is the basic structural and functional unit of a life. New cell arises from preexisting cells.
Viruses are not true cells. They have a simple coat of protein only. They do not contain any cell organelle like mitochondria, ribosome etc. Viruses are alive only until they are inside their host cell. They are considered to behave dead when outside the host cell. Hence, Viruses are an exception to cell theory.
Bacteria are bigger and more complex than viruses, though they can still spread through the air. A bacterium is a single cell, and it can live and reproduce almost anywhere on its own: in soil, in water and in our bodies.

I thought you might be interested in the difference between a germ and a virus. Guess I was wrong...you don’t.

Using salt on internal tissue like in the sinuses can have side effects.
Allergic reaction (rare)
Sneezing.
Cough.
Eye irritation if sprayed in the eye.
Nose irritation.
Abnormal taste.
Used under care, salt can be beneficial when used in a solution and not overused. Continual use can cause Halotherapy which can have some side effects. You may have coughing and more mucus secretion because your nasal passages are clearing out. Rarely, you may notice skin irritation or conjunctivitis, or pink eye. But there is a possibility of irritation in sinus passages.
