If you thought “Eternals” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” were low points for the limping Marvel Cinematic Universe, strap in for the ride to abject misery that is “The Marvels.”
The interminable movie, barely directed by Nia DaCosta, is not so much the story of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau as it is a sad study of the downfall of America’s favorite screen franchise.
Once again, we get an MCU film that’s littered with insider technobabble and is impossible to follow.
Once again, we get an MCU film featuring characters we don’t care a lick about even though they beg us to, like meowing cats at feeding time.
Once again, we get an MCU film that we’re told cost $270 million to make yet appears as pricey as a Season 5 episode of “Stargate SG-1.”
Once again, we trudge out at the end an MCU film — the 33rd! — moaning, “How much longer can this godforsaken cinematic universe possibly drag on?”

I had to LOL.
Team arrives on an alien world...
Colonel O'Neill: "Oh, look. Pine trees." swiping the branches aside as they head down into an "alien" gravel pit.
I saw this review but there were also a lot of positive reviews. Most reviews say the Muslim girl is the best thing in the movie. The villain apparently is weak at best.
A lot of these negative reviews say the original Captain Marvel movie and character were so unlikable. I don’t agree with that.
I do agree the Marvel movies have run out of steam, and at this point super hero movies pretty much sucked the life out of the movie industry. It’s a shame when many of us grew up appreciating great stars and great dramatic films.
Its explanation is simple and I saw it coming decades ago.
Movies (their cretors) became more interested in social messages as opposed to entertainment, it’s progressed to the point with leftists in charge, liked Kennedy with Lucas Films, only care about the indoctrination.
This South Park clip is perfect—-and I have to add many people, shockingly even some of FR still cling to the idea movies are never biased politically:
Those are access media shills. Theh give good reviews to get access to screenings, conventions etc.
You can ignore them.
I lost about 70% interest in modern movies the moment I saw a gun control poster displayed in, I believe, “Lethal Weapon 2”.
So much for Kathleen Kennedy’s approach for all Disney movies: “put a woman in it and make her gay!”
Disney: Into the Panderverse.
Kennedy has used the Panderstone too much. It has taken over.
Odds are it’s occidental. Lol
In what world is Ralph Macchio brown? He’s Italian American sure, but Italian’s are white.
I’m not going to watch Marvels/Disney’s vagina monologs.
I was a fan of the MCU, but I’m not going to feed the beast anymore
Much of the entertainment industry has been driven by make-believe for decades.
‘Superheroes’? (Oh my. Where to start with that dumbing down nonsense)
Millions of kids seeking to become a great athlete; with kids as young as 4 or 5 playing ‘league’ games on Sundays, therefore learning little or nothing about God and righteousness. (Nowadays most of the sports gear is made in anti christ chynah)
Teen girls were screaming and passing out in Shea stadium in 1964 because some Brit guys were singing songs.
For decades women and girls have been making believe that there is nothing wrong with aborting a child.
Men and boys have been making believe that fathering a child doesn’t make them a father.
And guvmint employees have been making believe that lies told to the citizens are a good thing.
Not according to Dennis Hopper talking to Christopher Walken….
IMHO, the streaming revolution is what is killing the movies, but I’m tired of grousing about the streamers and will let that go for today.
I don’t pretend to be an expert, but a lot of the people I read and listen to think that Disney is a lost cause. Increasingly I tend to agree. All of the streamers suffer from wokeitis, but in Disney’s case the problem seems to go deeper than that.
At this point, I incline towards the view that Disney won’t survive in the long run unless there is a shareholder revolt, a takeover of the Board of Directors by people determined to reverse course, a wholesale purge of senior management, and a determined, sustained effort to clean house at lower levels. And at Disney, the cancer is so widespread that the company will have to be substantially rebuilt from the bottom up.
The other streamers are a mixed bag. Some are worse than others, but I occasionally find movies worth recommending. (Many of the best are independent or foreign films that they’ve picked up for distribution.) But Disney is in a death spiral. It needs a Board coup.
I haven’t noticed any of her lead females being particularly queer. What I do see is that she inserts her fantasy ideal of herself in the characters. That is why they seem so cookie cutter and Mary Sue. I don’t think she is psychologically incapable of separating herself from her female leads. Because she desperately wants superiority over the men around her, she diminishes the classic Star Wars heroes like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo to make the characters she has projected herself into greater.
The good coach, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) is Japanese. And the Japanese girlfriend of Daniel-san is gorgeous.
I remain blissfully unaware of the train of toxic burning dumpster fires turned out by woke Pedowood.
