From a distance, many would see the make of the vehicle, the green and the white, then assume it was real, not actually reading it until they got close. Most people probably never read the type. They don’t think they would need to.
If he wanted an obvious joke, there should have been some cartoons used here and there. Even a butt shaped antenna.

I was pulled over once in my red 2003 Pontiac Vibe for having Christmas lights on it. No blinking or flashing, and I had a number of people, including officers, compliment me on them.
That one was just a jerk. Depends on who pulls you over.
