The Correct Order In Which To Watch The Night Of The Living Dead Franchise
Looper ^ | 12/8/20 | Meg Shops

You'd be hard-pressed to find a zombie fan unfamiliar with George A. Romero's expansive "Night of the Living Dead" franchise, which is widely regarded to have set the stage for almost all current zombie media and redefined the horror genre. However, due to a copyright mishap that inundated the world with both official and unofficial spin-offs and sequels (via The Verge), it's pretty easy to get lost in this sea of undead flesh-eater films.

Don’t watch the first one.

Then in order don’t watch the sequels or reboots.

That’s how.

Surprised they included the first Return in there. But it tracks. One of the first movies to portray punk rockers in a way that actually resembles punk rockers and not just “crazed youths”. One of my favorites, great soundtrack too.

Absolutely. She had that same “allure” that Candace Hilligoss had in ‘Carnival of Souls”.
Both great movies to this day IMO.

Carnival of Souls absolutely breaks the “creepy” meter...weird but excellent movie.

I always thought they should make a spoof and call it “Night of the annoying Democrats” and have it filmed just like the original Night of the living dead but have the zombies act just like democrats. Like that opening scene when they’re in the graveyard and the zombie attacks Barbara, instead have her attacked by a leftist who says “All white people are white supremacists! You are a racist racist!” and she tries to get away but the Democrat gets even more annoying “Abortion full term! Its a womans right to choose!”

There is no “order”. The movies are stand-alone pieces, which is why the zombies act and look different from film to film. Okay, okay, so we all know the real reason is budget constraints but I don’t like my delusions shattered. ;)

To my surprise, the TV series “The Walking Dead” is actually quite good due to strong characters, good acting, and solid drama. The audience demographics tend conservative, which makes sense due to the lack of wokeness, frequent gun use, and mostly grim view of human nature. In addition, the main group of survivors are strongly loyal to each other and tend to become better and more fully rounded over time.

“due to the lack of wokeness,”

Lack of wokeness???? I quit watching it when they decided a lip smacking homosexual kiss was necessary to the plot line. No thanks.

I did not like that either, but it was a brief and isolated moment. The larger point is that the defining characters of the series are ready to fight and kill adversaries who threaten them and the main group of survivors. And the few communities of survivors who seem almost idyllically secure are always undermined by external menaces, hidden evils, or corruption. People who fight for you are shown as heroes, while preening types end up exposed as dangerous phonies. That is a kind of Trumpian outlook, wouldn’t you say?

I do my best to avoid supporting globohomo. I’m not always successful, but not supporting it in entertainment is easy for me. This was actually the second interesting series that lost me due to the apparently required homosexual content. Again, no thanks.

Audience taste can be fickle, and even the best shows eventually exhaust their premises.
