Don’t watch the first one.
Then in order don’t watch the sequels or reboots.
That’s how.
Surprised they included the first Return in there. But it tracks. One of the first movies to portray punk rockers in a way that actually resembles punk rockers and not just “crazed youths”. One of my favorites, great soundtrack too.
I always thought they should make a spoof and call it “Night of the annoying Democrats” and have it filmed just like the original Night of the living dead but have the zombies act just like democrats. Like that opening scene when they’re in the graveyard and the zombie attacks Barbara, instead have her attacked by a leftist who says “All white people are white supremacists! You are a racist racist!” and she tries to get away but the Democrat gets even more annoying “Abortion full term! Its a womans right to choose!”
There is no “order”. The movies are stand-alone pieces, which is why the zombies act and look different from film to film. Okay, okay, so we all know the real reason is budget constraints but I don’t like my delusions shattered. ;)
Some list. Doesn’t even include “Dawn of the Dead (2004).” One of the best since the original. Here’s a deleted scene that “Babylon 5” fans will love,

I’ll admit that the ME’s morgue scene was poorly done. The rest is good. They could have expanded this to an entire movie.
Here’s the correct order to watch this franchise: You start at the original 1968 Night of The Living Dead and you finish at the 1978 Dawn of the Dead. The rest is just rubbish.
There are other zombie movies that one must watch, but are not part of the George Romero Dead franchise. Such as:
Fulci’s Zombi 2 (aka Zombie Flesh Eaters), Shock Waves, Carnival of Souls, The Plague of the Zombies, Messiah of Evil, Horror Express, Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things, Ossorio’s “Blind Dead” series starting with Tombs of the Blind Dead, Death Line, Last Man on Earth
