Veterans Day SLIDE:

This morning I had a rather emotional experience. A lady knocked on the door of the house we are tending and presented me with this "Quilt of Valor". I had never heard of such a thing. It was a complete surprise and brought me to tears. My Army service ended in 1980. It has been 55 years since I came home from Vietnam. Yet every time I look at it I have been choking back sobs all day.

Hubby was watching how a big hotel here brought in a plane load of veterans for the weekend.

So nice of them to do that also.

He is a Vietnam Veteran and you know they weren’t welcomed home back then.

But
When he came home from Nam, he was at the airport waiting for a bus and a fellow asked him, hey soldier, where are you going, hubby said I am going home, the guy said, get in soldier I will take you home. The fellow drove him 50 miles out of his way.

That was great and some were grateful.

The guy was an insurance salesman and gave hubby his card.
We bought insurance from him.
