No elephants, no lions, no tigers, no horses, not even a dog act. NO CLOWNS! Great acrobatic performances and lots and lots of very loud, very bad music (25% of the entire show).

For those planning on attending the resurrected RB & B and B “circus”, I thought I’d review yesterday’s Cincinnati performance. Is there a woke campaign against clowns? One positive, no sign of homo/trans, in your face, tendencies.

We know where the clowns ended up!

I once knew a family in southern Oklahoma that grew hay for the circus animals. Didn’t know that was all gone now.

It is a different world. The dominant face of a clown is of a crazed murderer (e.g. Joker).
Even now, if you look at clown shows from a more innocent time, the vibe has now become creepy because of the world around us.
When I was a youngster, I always loved when the “Banana Man” performed on Captain Kangaroo. Now, I wouldn’t let the banana man within 30 feet of my wife or children).

Glad I got to see RB & B and B as a kid, when it was really a circus. No way I’ll see whatever it is now.

They are trying to compete with cirque du soleil?

I hated clowns as a kid back in the 50’s and 60’s. They were creepy then and even creepier now,...............

To be honest, the circus died long ago. The circus parade down mainstreet in each new town, raising the big top with the help of elephants, kids wanting to run off and join the circus, all part of a better past. The 1952 film ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ is not great cinema, but captures some of the magic of the circus (and the circus was fading away even in 1952).

There is no circus in the US any more.
I oppose animal cruelty but believe one can have a classic circus and well cared for animals at the same time. It’s a shame. I suppose proper circuses can still be enjoyed in other countries, I don’t know.

I was sitting with my 7 and 4 year old grandsons. Throughout the entire performance I was constantly asked, “grandpa, when will the clowns come out”. It certainly wasn’t what they expected the circus to be.

I remember my parents' taking me to see the Ringling Brother's circus when
they performed (over 50 years ago) at the Philadelphia Spectrum.
I was 5 or 6 at the time.
(Yikes, I'm beginning to get old...)
