Women Quit Jiu-Jitsu Tournament After Being Forced To Fight Men, Prompting Association To Change Its Rules

Female martial artists refused to participate in a tournament last weekend after men took over the women’s category. In an interview with Reduxx, the female athletes expressed a fear for their safety as male competitors have repeatedly infiltrated their sport.

And it worked: As of Saturday, the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) has officially changed its policy regarding transgender athletes.

The Georgia Grappling Championship saw an all-male women’s podium on Oct. 21 as trans-identified men Cordelia Gregory and Corissa Griffith took first and second place. Griffith won four total gold medals in women’s events that day.

The female athletes reportedly were not notified they would be matched up against males.

The real women apparently got a rule change enacted by their Walkout, so there has been some remediation.

You're right, Women's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a very small sport, so it won't get much coverage as audience = money for sports news.

Can a real man step up? I’m too old now. But if I was a bit younger, this is what I’d do:

Proclaim myself female. Now if fighting an actual female, take a dive. Lose.

But if fighting a man calling himself a woman, do maximum damage.

This is akin to my proposed approach to men playing on women’s HS football teams. As coach, I’d put my entire men’s team on the field as “trans.” Go STOMP. Keep the gals safe.

So the rule would be simple: If you put men on the field claiming to be women, I will put up ALL men and kick your ###. If you play all women, so will we.

This insanity has to stop. It is actually putting true female athletes at risk.

This has always been the solution. Every woman facing a male competitor should refuse to participate. It’s hard to give up your life’s ambition, but a total blockade needs to happen to end this.
