Not sure Acapulco was ever hit by a Cat 5 before. Flooding, debris and wind damage basically cut off all ground access in/out of the city. Mexico is slowly transitioning to air and sea based rescue and recovery.

Limited power, fuel is running out and fresh water is sketchy. From Orlando’s linked video it looks like Thunderdome is taking hold there.

It’ll buff right out. All depends on how hard you work.

The US is taking care of millions of people from there and further south already. Our hands are full of their crap. We have had enough.

Good luck with that.

The WSJ just reported Mexico is airlifting food and other help, into the area.

The Mexican's know not to expect the government to do anything for them in a crisis. They are self reliant.

When a hurricane hit Cozumel and did major damage just a few years go the island was up and running in 3 or 4 days.

That's because they are use to it. They expect it and make precautions to prepare for it. Its simply their culture.

AMLO could always dip into his cartel-supplied billions to help, but, as a communist, he remains above it all reassuring himself these are just individuals of the peon class suffering. Where’s comrade bernie when he’s needed?

My daughter and son in law are in Tulum right now. It is beautiful there. No problem on the flight into Cancun either.

And it developed very quickly, it took the forecasters by surprise, so there was little time to evacuate.

Like when the Tsunami hit Japan, they were pretty much able to clean up and get back to normal.

What are you referring to? Why can’t tourists just leave on their own?

Maybe if you watched the video (at the 10:04 mark) you would get a clue.

Maybe some of their citizens should go home to check on them

Bummer. First I heard of it. I guess more people will cross the border due to “climate change.”

The video showed massive looting at all the big box stores in Acapulco. (Who knew they had Walmart's and Costco's in Mexico?)

Hey Amigos, just come to "Gringo Land" where we have lots and lots of free stuff for you to send back to Mexico.

Caramaba! The USA needs help because it has been giving money and help to basket case countries that don’t function.

Close the borders, welcome people as visitors/tourists, and make sure they know when they have overstayed their welcome and kick them out when they won’t leave.

Yeah so there was devastation because of a hurricane. Is there something preventing these people from returning to the US? What exactly do they expect the US to do?

Trying to come up with some sympathy!
Nope, not finding any sympathy for that country, not one bit.

Well, that’s a shame. My parents honeymooned in Acapulco, in 1957.

What are you suggesting “we” do to help? Send money? Don’t make me laugh.

When is the last time our “neighbor to the south” came to help the US when we get a cat 5 hurricane? I can’t recall any, can you? I guess I am one of those people that believe good “neighbors” share and help each other during a crisis, not have one neighbor doing all the work and spending their money.
