Tucker Carlson and Pro-Putin Guest Suggest Israel Is Committing ‘War Crimes’ and Mock ‘Moral Victories’

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and his guest, retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, scoffed at the idea that the United States was scoring “moral victories” through its assistance of Israel and suggested that the world’s only Jewish-majority state was committing “war crimes” by bombing Gaza during an episode of the former’s show released on Monday.

After a conversation during which the two commentators argued that wiping out Hamas was an unrealistic goal, they said that the U.S. was hurtling toward war with Iran and bizarrely submitted that Turkey and Russia would be eager to join such a conflict on the side of Iran, Carlson adopted a mockingly inquisitive tone.

“But we’ll be, as we become impoverished and chaotic and subject to these terror attacks, we’ll be winning important moral victories, don’t you think?” he asked.

He continued:

This is the problem with collective punishment. This is the problem with annihilating Gaza and trying to sweep out its population. That’s unacceptable to us as Americans. I don’t think if you sat down any of Israel’s most ardent supporters in the United States and said, ‘Are you willing to trade the lives of several hundred thousand people in Gaza for the lives taken in Israel by Hamas?’ After all, Hamas and Palestinian Jihad were the fighters. They lost 1,500, there were 3,000 involved in the several waves of the attack. They’re dead. Now we’re looking at perhaps 5,000 civilians dead. How many more will we witness? Is that somehow or another justified morally?

It’s unclear what Macgregor has that leads him to believe that all of the terrorists involved in planning, preparing for, and carrying out the October 7 attack on Israel are already dead.

At the outset of the Russian war on Ukraine, Macgregor submitted that Russia would win the war within a couple of weeks. He has also spread Russian propaganda by declaring that Vladimir Putin only invaded because Ukrainian military forces were massing at the Russian border and that the Russian leader has taken pains to avoid kill civilians in Ukraine.

As of July, over 9,000 civilians had been killed, and nearly 16,000 had been injured by Russia in Ukraine. The statistics cited by Macgregor about civilian casualties in Gaza come from Hamas.

Carlson and Macgregor join the ranks of far-left commentators and politicians such as Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Mehdi Hasan in suggesting that Israel has committed war crimes in its defensive war against Hamas.

But Tucker's shift toward the Jew-haters is the big problem, and one which may be explained by his increasingly close relationship with Muslim venture capitalist Omeed Malik.

If you listened carefully... (ahem) they were weighing the choices that one must make with the reactions and consequences from allies and enemy nations alike which is certain to come forth. Tucker was asking the questions based on the leftist, anti-semitic media's portrayal of events. Devil's advocacy if you will. Perhaps too much thinking for some.

He wasn't saying they are wrong to strike back, he was saying what the repercussions may be in the region with such a retaliatory strike. And... based on our open borders, what may take place in the U.S. as a result of an IDF response.

I’m in agreement with Tucker & Douglas Macgregor who are both America First and are warning of the dangers to the US if we were to go to war with Iran. With Iran now being a client state of Russia it could easily lead to WW3, a war we are not currently prepared to fight. The entire Muslim world including our ostensible allies like Turkey and the Saudis have lined up in support of the Palestinians. We could possibly see another oil embargo like we faced in the 70’s. While I support Israel’s existence they are not the 51st state and American interests come before theirs.

There was a huge amount of enthusiasm for the Cheney Second Iraq War as well, got to find those WMDs. It soured pretty quickly. I listened to the entire interview by Tucker with Col. McGregor; I heard nothing that was pro-Russian, pro-Iranian or anti-Israel; what I did hear was a detailed discussion on war capabilities, strategy and the costs of invading Gaza and the unpredictable consequences that can follow. If posters on here are going to call names, at least have some basic information to back it up.

The word “corruption” is used freely in discussing Ukraine and Russia, but nowhere is it more accurately applied than when discussing Yanukovych.

From Wikipedia, here’s a description of his palace. Did Putin fund it? Any guesses:

Documents recovered from Yanukovych’s compound show among other expenses $800 medical treatment for fish, $14,500 spent on tablecloths, and a nearly 42 million dollar order for light fixtures. Also recovered were files on Yanukovych’s perceived enemies, especially media members, including beating victim Tetyana Chornovol. The cost of monitoring the mass media was reportedly $5.7 million just for the month of December 2010.[180]

When the former president departed, 35 cars and seven motorbikes were left behind. Kyiv’s District Court seized 27 vintage cars in 2016 from the fleet stationed at Mezhyhirya, some worth more than $US 1 million.

Yanukovych told BBC Newsnight (in June 2015) that stories that Mezhyhirya cost the Ukrainian taxpayer millions of dollars were “political technology and spin” and that the estate did not belong to him personally; he claimed that the ostriches in the residence’s petting zoo “just happened to be there”[181] and remarked “I supported the ostriches, what’s wrong with that?”.
