Hamish said to The Courier: "We are completely in the dark about what has happened.
"It is true that he has been unwell but we believed he was on the mend.
"There is to be an autopsy and at the moment there is very little we can say.
"We really don't want to talk about this at this stage.
"As a family we are completely devastated. You can imagine how we are feeling."
McAlpine was an amateur golf champion before going into caddying.

My wife’s lingering hearing problem and my short acting problem have been basically hidden from the public like you your wife, my wife and I.

Not going to get mad, but what encouraged you to try to bring up things that point fingers when simple natural causes since he has been ill for a long time are being identified as the most likely reason at this point? Appearances to health can be very misleading. Many athletes, and carrying a 40 to 50 pound bag over a 6K yard course 4 times a week and around the course for his player certainly qualifies, sudden death has been a phenomenon in sports for many years.

So, why not wait until the autopsy comes out before you insinuate the worst? Then you’ll have the identified reason.

Reggie Lewis, Pete Maravich, Jim Fix, Hank Gathers, Marc Vivien Foe, Miklos Feher, Antonio Puerta, Wes Leonard, Flo Hyman, Sergei Grinkov, Ray “Zeke” Upshaw, Alexander Dale Oen, Darryl Kile, Omar Carter...
Every one of these except Wes Leonard, high school three year starter in basketball, was a world class or professional athlete, all monitored by doctors and trainers, and all died suddenly with no warning.

Right add it to the list. We are in a very dangerous place now. A large percentage of the population no longer trusts vaccines. If a real pandemic comes and effective vaccine is made millions will die because there is so much distrust many won’t take it.

It gets down to the family and friend level. My wife just got a flu shot and her shingles shot.
I got my shingle shot about 3 years ago and will not ever get any more flu nor so called Covid shots. I did get the first 2 Covid shots, and I wish that I hadn’t.
My sibling refuses to get any injection and has for years. Her husband has Parkinson’s and gets every antiviral injection known to man.
One of our adult sons, his wife and RN daughter refuse all vaccinations. The other son and his lady get every anti viral shot that is available.
One of my wife’s siblings has never had a flu shot nor Covid shot, and their brother has gotten every shot known to mankind.
We don’t argue nor hassle our relatives/friends if they want shots. They are adults, and they don’t hassle us for saying no or yes.
