I just began to see Russia for what it is. A marauder country run by opportunistic bandits that hang out with countries I loathe.

And it’s such a pity - imagine a world where Russia allied with the USA and with European countries?

Instead Putin has made Russia ally with Russia’s foes:
- with Shia Iran —> Russia fought multiple wars with them over the centuries, grabbing land from them
- with China —> Russia grabbed land from China in the 19th and 20th century
- with Turkey —> Russia has grabbed land from Turkey and it’s predecessor states for centuries.
