I think that the Trump promoted Abrams Accords resulted in the Arabs that matter reducing or ceasing support for the Palistinian authority. By giving the PA money the thought probably is that Hamas has a legitimate replacement that can solidify political control and end or at least lessen the chaos.
Why the USA? Don’t I know. Perhaps the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt will chip in as well.

What’s our national interest in Taiwan? We are told it is chips. We know it’s a problem because when supply chains have been interrupted we can’t build thinkg like automobiles.
But it is a lie. We don’t have a national interest in Taiwan. We have a DEPENDENCY on Taiwan and it is a self made dependency because we have not managed our economy or trade policies. The solution is to fix those and remove dependencies. Defend America, not our dependencies.
