A Chinese nuclear submarine got caught in a trap intended for U.S. or British submarines in the Yellow Sea, killing 55 people on board, multiple reports claimed. However, Beijing has not yet released any information to corroborate or deny the catastrophic accident.
The news outlets, citing a British intelligence report, said 22 officers, seven officer cadets, nine petty officers and 17 sailors were killed in an accident involving a Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) nuclear submarine on Aug. 21.
International Business Times could not independently verify the information.
If true, the incident "reflects poorly on the PLA Navy's capabilities," Niranjan Oak, a research analyst at Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses in New Delhi, told IBT.
PLA Navy submarine 093-417 was reportedly involved in the accident. The Shang-class submarine got caught in seabed defenses that were installed by Chinese forces to trap U.S. and allied submarines. It ran out of oxygen, killing 55 on board, the reports said.
"Our understanding is death caused by hypoxia (lack of oxygen) due to a system fault on the submarine," British intelligence officials reportedly said. "The submarine hit a chain and anchor obstacle used by the Chinese navy to trap U.S. and allied submarines. This resulted in systems failures that took six hours to repair and surface the vessel. The onboard oxygen system poisoned the crew after a catastrophic failure."

I'm surprised it didn't roll over from being top-heavy as soon as it left port.
The submarine surely wouldn’t have ran out of oxygen if it’s a Shang class vessel, and therefore nuclear. Its machinery could keep on supplying its crew with oxygen for *years.* Maybe one of China’s own mines blew it up? Or it got tangled up and sank past crush depth into the deep ocean abyss? What are the chances its reactor(s) malfunctioned, taking its oxygen generating equipment offline? Disasters sometimes result from more than one system failing at the same time, aka “Murphy’s Law.”
Some kind of a shake-out voyage, or training?
Your opinion and judgement means nothing to me.
Fixed it for them.

Now read your post 38.
Yes, entangling a slow-moving submarine is technically possible.
But “drowning” its crew by preventing from surfacing? A nuclear submarine generates its crew’s oxygen from seawater internally. The technology is not “simple” but is straightforward. (Caution, high pressure oxygen and high pressure hydrogen and seawater and electricity do not combine in friendly modes when brought together improperly!)
A diesel submarine would eventually die. After days of self-enforced silence.
An emergency blow, sonar signals, hull-borne noise (including simple sledge hammers) would bring rescue efforts in shallow water.
Rescue would also reveal the Chinese submarine’s location - which is probably why its crew was sacrificed by their Chinese government.
Taiwan’s trap? Not a Communist Chinese entailing wires and mines?
The Connunist Chinese Party - and its military elements and economic warfare elements ARE the world’s biggest threat right now.
That is your belief.
How about some facts?
I can get an opinion on CNN.
Oh. Well then, Biden, and the political-acafemic-mass media global elite behind him and propping him up are a more immediate threat to the United States, but that’s only because they are working with, and working for, the Communist Chinese Party’s long term goals.
Yes, there are many speculations, and as you wrote we have to wait.

Whosoever diggeth the pit,
Shall fall in it.”...Bob Marley.
Proverbs 26:27, not Bob Marley.
I think you may be missing, “Made in China”.
I know that. I should have put the /s.
Bob Marley often quoted (and misquoted) the Bible.
"Immediate?" You mean arming itself to war against the US, thus laying death traps for subs? No, not "immediate" but neither were the 911 terrorists while planning to do their work with flight classes, etc. Neither not was Germany an immediate to the US in 1939. In hindsight should the US not have treated Germany as a enemy then consideration its intent?
Godless communism seeks world dominion, and if not for the US, Tawain would have already been invaded by China, which I am sure has as it long term goal that of the conquest of Australia, and dominating the US, etc. The Left, as proxy servants of Satan, also seeks world dominion.
As Christians we should lament the death of souls headed to Hell, esp. those forced into service by evildoers, and yet on the other hand be relieved when those intent on destruction for self0sh reasons are weakened or subdued. In this case it would have been good if the US could have rescued them and retrieved the sub for examination, but as a gun pointed at the free world, can there not be some relief at the weakening of such, while saddened that souls were lost which may have been saved though unlikely.
I am glad I don’t have your view of the world...”kill or be killed”.
In realm of the civil governments, that is essentially what it does, deterring those who intend to kill. It "beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil." (Romans 13:4)
You need to find Christ. Your heart is black. God made those Chinese men just like He made you.
A sinful accusation, and perverse reasoning. God also made Stalin like He made you. All are sinners, the difference only being in degrees, but when one intends to take innocent life, or promotes and enables the same, like a George Soros, while we should want his salvation, would be we wrong in being relieved upon hearing of his death?
Relieved is not gloating.
Taiwan is part of China.
Your faith is not mine, pharisee.

True Taiwan is part of China.
Which ignores the obvious problem.
Your faith is not mine, pharisee.
Evidently, acting like a unreasonable, acerbic recalcitrant pharisee if evidently just part of it.

Actually, communism's conquest was not made so costly and if time had exposed the problem with classical Marxist communion then it likely would have continued in its course. China's leadership realized it could not suppress capitalism as it did, and developed a form of "socialism with Chinese characteristics. Which is most notable for allowing capitalists, officially referred to as the "new social strata", to join the party on the grounds that they engaged in "honest labor and work" and through their labour contributed "to build[ing] socialism with Chinese characteristics." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideology_of_the_Chinese_Communist_Party#Socialist_market_economy)
But just as it exercises totalitarian control over its masses in suppressing dissent , so it seeks to do to its world competition in support of China.
