KALISPELL, Mont. — A 73-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was attacked by a bear west of Glacier National Park and just south of the U.S. Canadian border over the weekend, Montana wildlife officials said Monday.
The woman, her husband and a dog were in the Flathead National Forest Sunday afternoon when a bear emerged from thick brush and attacked her, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks

That’s what I was thinking. Dog may have been foraging and sniffing around and bear decided a snack was there for the taking. Many people are misled by the fantasy presented in advertising about vacationing in the wild, and that there are no risks...The result seems to be a predictable number of injuries and deaths.

I know from personal experience they well shot through 4 foot of bear.
Yep, they are packing on the pounds for winter hibernation. Berries are scarce. People are more plentiful and have more calories.
The grizzly attack in Banff last week killed two hikers AND their dog.
And taste better now that most people don’t smoke like the old days.
So sad.
Had a bear wandering around nearby town .......
