Just hours before her death, 90-year-old Dianne Feinstein was helped onto the Senate floor for the final public act of her trailblazing career.

The California Democrat, holding onto her aide's arm, slowly raised her hand to vote 'aye' on Thursday morning in a procedural vote for short-term government funding.

Feinstein walked in without the wheelchair she used in the final months of her 30-year Senate career as her health deteriorated following a bout with shingles.

After giving her colleagues a brief wave, she was escorted out again following her last fleeting appearance in the upper chamber.

Feinstein subsequently missed two Senate votes in the afternoon.

But later on Thursday she was photographed at home in Washington D.C. with former California congresswoman Jane Harman.

Her office confirmed on Friday that she had passed away overnight at the Washington D.C. house.

Tearful colleagues returned to the Senate floor on Friday morning to pay tribute to the first female mayor of San Francisco and California's longest-serving senator.

Her daughter Katherine was in the gallery alongside Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, a fellow California lawmaker and friend of the family, as lawmakers from both sides of the aisle remembered the late senator as a political powerhouse who broke through gender barriers.

I've noted before that the leadership of the Democratic Party reminds me of the Soviet leaders in the 1980's. They are all old party loyalists, corrupt, and clinging to power until the day they drop dead. The only thing that has changed with them is their recent embrace of homosexual rights such as marriage and adoption. They have no ideas which appeal to young people, so they have shamefully tried to buy their votes by finally addressing the student loan mess, and doing a poor job of that. Otherwise, nothing in their corrupt free trade policies appeals to much anyone in the working class, the old Dem base.

Very sad she was used by the democrats - the Chinese spy driver of 20 years who was allowed to retire with benefits, no doubt, was a disgrace to our country.

Also, there was a video from last year of her looking white as a ghost when she was standing beside Schumer (I think) at a mic - she looked absolutely petrified , like she was going to collapse in fear but I cannot find it.

Thank you! Yes I have been following her train wreck for many years. Used to reside in Ca. And she is probably THE number one implementer of our current Communism. It all started with Feinstein, Frisco, Berkeley, The Sierra Club, and the Endangered Species act. These were the first seeds that started the ball rolling towards the whole current national agenda.
