The Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce is arguably the best tight end in the NFL. Recently, he appeared in a commercial sponsored by Pfizer and aired during NFL games promoting getting a COVID booster and a flu vaccine simultaneously, showing two parallel band-aids on his arm, with the pitch being it saves time (“two things at once”). You can see the commercial on his Instagram page. Given Kelce also appeared recently in a Bud Light commercial and is rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, some conservatives are calling him out for triple wokeness.
But how safe is getting both vaccines simultaneously? A CDC-funded JAMA study published July 15, 2022, by researchers from the CDC and Emory University, looked into this very question, recording adverse events reported in the period September 22, 2021 to May 1, 2022 for one week following the injections through v-safe, a self-reporting app, for 92,023 receiving the booster and the flu vaccine simultaneously, compared to 889,076 receiving the booster alone. (Note: the study excluded the 2,647 who got more than these two vaccines simultaneously. All I can say to this group is: “You’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do you feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?”) According to the Key Points:
Findings In this cohort study of self-reported data from 981099 persons aged 12 years or older, simultaneous administration of a COVID-19 mRNA booster dose and an influenza vaccine was associated with 8% to 11% increases, respectively, in systemic reaction compared with COVID-19 mRNA booster alone. These differences were statistically significant.
Similarly, at the end of the abstract:
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE In this study, compared with administration of COVID-19 mRNA booster vaccines alone, simultaneous administration of COVID-19 mRNA booster and seasonal influenza vaccines was associated with significant increases in reports of systemic reactions...

Why such a VAX push? Is it to reduce the unVAXed control group or just to increase drug company profits?
You’ll know in three years. If you live that long.
If you go back 5 or 10 years, the people who opposed vaccines were broadly considered nutjobs. The idea that vaccines caused autism? Crazy!! The concept of religious exemption so a child could skip out on Mumps or Measles vaccines? Insane!!
Today I think a lot of people think that society could do alright with no vaccines. I really think they are a bad idea in general.
Since they are basically the same, ...
Covid plus flu vaccines at same time put a friend in ICU, he nearly died.
It’s an excuse to sneak in the covid shot to people who are comfortable with the flu shot. Next, the “flu” shot will be covid without the label.
I don’t get either.
How safe is getting a COVID booster and a flu vaccine simultaneously?
If you’re Branch Covidian or Liberal I highly recommend get every covid booster and flu shot you can get. The more you get the better your safe space will get and don’t forget to wear you mask, stay home for at least several years till the threat settles down.
You die twice as suddenly?
I always wondered if it was really a good idea to swoop in with all vaccines at once for newborns. Seems to me it’d be a better idea to wait a couple weeks between each shot.
Docs seem to think, unless you’re “immune compromised”, that the immune system is a sort of perpetual motion machine, that it responds without variance regardless of input.
I don't either. I can't even remember when I ever got a flu shot. I can't even remember having the flu. If I had COVID it was with absolutely 0 symptoms.
We had a local kid die of an aneurysm, age 15.
I have never had a flu shot.
A woman I work with (she’s all boosted up) has had COVID three times, and currently has it now. She says this third time is by far the worst of her COVID bouts. That’s a heck of a vaccine.
And presented as if news across the spectrum of MSM....
I have never had a COVID or a flu shot. So far I have never died suddenly.
“It’s an excuse to sneak in the covid shot to people who are comfortable with the flu shot.”
I’m suspicious of that, too. Declined the flu shot the last 3 years because of it.
My PCP is exasperated with me because I won’t do the vax or flu shots, I take ivermectin, declined a colonoscopy at age 75, etc. We have an adversarial relationship and it’s almost impossible to get in with a new PCP.
It’ll be just the “Brawndo Health Shot, It’s Got Electrolytes!”
That’s where we are unfortunately. Idiocracy was Prophesy.
