As the latest reports and analyses of the Ukrainian war show, the most encouraging news of the day comes from the southern axis. The southern front has long been the main focus of the Ukrainian armed forces’ offensive.
Especially in recent days, the pulse of the war has been beating in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Ukrainian forces have been engaged in fierce battles on this front line, decimating the Russian army. Casualties are an inevitable outcome for the Russians who cannot resist Ukraine. The Russian army is trying to take various steps to compensate for these losses. However, the fierce clashes on the battlefield cause these steps to be fruitless.
We are heading to the Zaporizhzhia region with you to discover the details of the hot breaking points. In the nearly two-year-long war in Ukraine, we have repeatedly witnessed Kiev troops capturing Russians on the front lines alongside the destroyed Russian soldiers. The most recent example of this took place the other day. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured at least a dozen or half a platoon of Russian invaders at one of the sites in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Yuri Misyagin, People’s Deputy and frontline volunteer, posted a video about this on his page on the social network “X”. The eighteen-second video posted on X shows captured Russian soldiers. Due to community rules, we cannot share the full video of the Ukrainian operation. The footage of the soldiers is accompanied by Ukrainian speech. Misyagin captioned the video “A new batch of captured orcs from the Zaporizhzhia region goes to the swap fund”, emphasizing once again the pathetic state of the Russians.
Let’s continue our journey on the front lines and look at other developments on the front lines. Ukrainian forces are trying to put Russian troops under pressure and are largely succeeding. In addition to captured Russian troops, fierce fighting is eliminating Russians from the battlefield. Ukraine’s ground troops and navy are conducting coordinated operations. As a result of these operations, the Russians are deeply wounded.
The other day, the Ukrainian Navy’s river fleet personnel destroyed a command and observation post. The downing of Russian command and observation posts could significantly affect Russian plans in the future. At the same time, the river fleet personnel eliminated 20 Russian invaders. Thus, the Russians had to resist the Ukrainian offensive with minus twenty soldiers. Details of the destruction operation were reported in the Navy Telegram.
Kiev’s counteroffensive continues to develop in southern Ukraine and the Donbas region. This counteroffensive is putting heavy pressure on Russian defenses. Moscow forces continue to hold the line but are suffering heavy losses. These heavy losses are weakening Russia’s defense efforts. In addition, according to the Unified Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 135 Russian invaders and wounded 177 others in the Tavria direction during the day.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group in the Marinka direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the Marinka district of Donetsk region. Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have made 10 unsuccessful attempts to defeat Ukrainian forces and seize positions there. At the same time, in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding the initiative and pressuring the enemy.
In these directions, Ukrainian forces are conducting offensive operations and recapturing territory. During the day, the missile and artillery units of the Tavria Defense Forces carried out 1,090 firing missions, the press service reported. As a result of these successful and accurate strikes, 313 Russian soldiers were eliminated and 31 pieces of enemy military equipment were destroyed. The destroyed equipment includes 2 armored combat vehicles, 4 artillery systems and mortars, 1 air defense system, 1 anti-tank missile system, 13 UAVs, 8 automotive equipment and 2 special equipment. The Press Center also said that 2 ammunition depots and one important enemy facility were destroyed.
As can be seen, the Russian situation on the front lines is quite severe. The Kremlin is trying to take various measures to compensate for this. In an effort to maintain a coherent line of defense against Ukraine’s counter-offensive in southern Ukraine and the Donbas, the Russian Defense Ministry continues to deploy its forces from quieter parts of the contact line to areas in danger of breach.

In the framework of his working visit to the United States, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with U.S. President Joseph Biden.
The negotiations took place in the White House in a narrow and expanded format.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State thanked the American leader for the fruitful dialogue and strong support of all Ukrainians.
“This is already the third time we have met this year. Thank you for the invitation. Our regular dialogue proves that our countries are true allies and strategic friends. We are very grateful for the vital assistance provided by the United States in the fight against Russian terror. Today I am in Washington to strengthen our coalition to protect our children, families, our homes, as well as freedom and democracy in the world,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine told Joseph Biden about his fruitful meeting with congressmen and senators.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joseph Biden discussed defense support for Ukraine and further cooperation for the benefit of both countries and the world.
“Today, we have achieved important results. We have agreed to work out a number of strategic decisions that will allow us to prevent any new aggression against Ukraine and our people,” the Head of State said and added that it would be one of the results of the G7 Joint Declaration and bilateral security arrangements.
In addition, according to the President, new agreements were reached that will boost Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the President of the United States for announcing a new powerful package of assistance to Ukraine.
“It is a very powerful package. It is exactly what our soldiers need now,” the Head of State stated.
He expressed hope for further support from the United States in enhancing the protection of Ukrainian skies, expanding opportunities for grain exports, implementing the Peace Formula, and holding the Global Peace Summit.
“I thank you, your team, the Congress, as well as journalists for spreading information to the public, to the world, for sharing the truth about these tragic events, about this Russian aggression. Thank you very much, Mr. President, for this warm meeting with you,” the Head of State said addressing Joseph Biden.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that today’s talks were powerful and important.
The teams of the two leaders will continue to work on the speedy implementation of the agreements reached today.

In the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, memoranda of cooperation and development of joint projects were signed between the Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the Global Defense & Industry Alliance, the Arizona Defense & Industry Coalition, and the Utah Aerospace and Defense Association.
Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin and President and CEO of the Arizona Defense & Industry Coalition and the Global Defense & Industry Alliance Lynndy Smith signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the Arizona Defense & Industry Coalition and the Global Defense & Industry Alliance at the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.
The document enshrines cooperation in the implementation of projects in the defense industry and reconstruction. The GDIA is to ensure the establishment of ties and development of cooperation between Ukraine and American defense companies interested in locating their production facilities in Ukraine.
