Texas AG Ken Paxton warns Biden administration after defeating 'sham impeachment': 'Buckle up'
Fox News ^ | 9/16/23 | Andrea Vacchiano

Posted on 09/17/2023 4:16:00 AM PDT by Libloather

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released a scathing letter directed towards the White House after he was acquitted of state impeachment charges Saturday.

Paxton, a Republican, was accused of corruption, bribery and unfitness for office by a bipartisan group of Texas state senators. All 12 Democrats in the jury voted for his impeachment, along with two Republicans: Sens. Robert Nichols and Kelly Hancock.

The attorney general was accused of misusing his political power to hire Nate Paul, a real estate developer who employed Paxton's alleged mistress Laura Olson. Paul was indicted in June for allegedly making false statements to banks.

Paxton was also accused of dereliction of duty, retaliating against former employees who reported his alleged wrongdoings to authorities and making false statements in regard to whistleblower accusations from former staffers.

The jury needed 21 votes to confirm the impeachment, but a two-thirds majority was not reached. The vote finished just before 1 p.m. Saturday.

"The sham impeachment coordinated by the Biden Administration with liberal House Speaker Dade Phelan and his kangaroo court has cost taxpayers millions of dollars, disrupted the work of the Office of Attorney General and left a dark and permanent stain on the Texas House," Paxton's letter read.

"The weaponization of the impeachment process to settle political differences is not only wrong, it is immoral and corrupt," the embattled attorney general added.

Paxton then accused the White House of promoting "lawless policies" and promised that President Biden will be "held accountable."

"Finally, I can promise the Biden Administration the following: buckle up because your lawless policies will not go unchallenged," the statement read. "We will not allow you to shred the constitution and infringe on the rights of Texans. You will be held accountable."

Fox News Digital writer Andrea Vacchiano (along with acknowledged Fox News' Chris Pandolfo and the Associated Press contributors):
"All 12 Democrats in the jury voted for his impeachment, along with two Republicans: Sens. Robert Nichols and Kelly Hancock."

Has Fox News now eliminated news editors and just hired woketards to do their reporting?!?

The vote for Paxton's impeachment (including 20 charges) was done earlier this year in the Texas State House by Demonicrats and RINOcrats. What the Texas State Senate did yesterday in the Senate trial on the impeachment charges was to vote to acquit AG Paxton on all the House impeachment charges. In fact, even though a 2/3rds majority was needed to convict, none of the charges even had a majority vote to convict.

Fox News is becoming as disreputable as the ABCCBSCNNNBCNPRNYTPBSWP enemedia.

This! All they needed was to sideline Paxton a bit so they can shove the illegals through. They knew he was going to be acquitted, but the damage is done.

“They don’t care about stuff like that. Character assignation is all they need. They had him out of action for 3 months while the cartels and the Biden administration raped the US through Texas.”

Still, when a party is ready to remove one of their own, they ALWAYS make sure to have their ducks in a row. This was similar to Alcee Hastings (a federal judge) who was impeached 35 years ago. Flaming leftist, he lost the House vote with nearly all Democrats (and all Republicans) voting to Impeach...but they also had their ducks in a row in the Senate and he was removed from the bench. (the fact that we wound up back in Congress after that says more about universal voting than it does about the removal process)

“Alcee Hastings”

The guy was a one man crime wave back in the day.

I would be stunned if he was still not stealing everything that is not nailed down...

Reminds me of a traffic stop recently shown on On Patrol Live.

The cop pulls over a black women and the car smells of marijuana. He explains to her that if the amount is not too large and she tells him where it is they can just dump it out and she won’t go to jail.

She agrees—explaining she was returning from a state where the marijuana was legal—and the cop opens the trunk and finds the marijuana as she described.

The hilarious part was what else was in the truck—two hotel towels she had stolen.

That is what I would expect from Alcee Hastings.

“Karl Rove’s article one month ago today ... (The End is Near for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton...He gloated when he got re-elected, but he seems sure to lose his impeachment trial) [09/16/2023]”

Rove continues in his expert wisdom. I believe the end is here for anyone to hire/believe Karl Rove. He has been a joke for years now.

I look forward to the audit Lt. Gov. promised. I hope he DOES make the house goofs pay for the bill. Especially Drunken Dave.

The closing argument from Tony Buzbee is a masterful presentation of truth. Well worth the time to listen. One memorable quote went something like “If we are going to impeach for marital infidelity, then line up. There are going to be a lot of you all looking at impeachment.” Not exact but near the quote. From what I hear about Austin, that is the sad truth.

The GOPe (Bush family) is very unhappy that Texans like Paxton more then they like the Bushes.

We're up against totalitarian monsters... everyday democrats are window dressing. Willing window dressing... but not the monsters.

This is why I keep saying Ted Cruz needs to stop concentrating on Iowa and work with Texas GOP to clean up Texas.
The corruption in TX has been there since LBJ

Ditto, Ditto. Thanks for mentioning Tokyo (K.) Rove.

For those who may not be aware of who, or what was Tokyo-Rose, during WWII (World War Two):

Tokyo Rose (alternative spelling Tokio Rose) was a name given by Allied troops in the South Pacific during World War II to all female English-speaking radio broadcasters of Japanese propaganda. The programs were broadcast in the South Pacific and North America to demoralize Allied forces abroad and their families at home by emphasizing troops' wartime difficulties and military losses. Several female broadcasters operated using different aliases and in different cities throughout the territories occupied by the Japanese Empire, including Tokyo, Manila, and Shanghai. The name "Tokyo Rose" was never actually used by any Japanese broadcaster, but it first appeared in U.S. newspapers in the context of these radio programs during 1943.

Texas voters....primary those two RINOs in the state Senate as well as every Republican House member in the state legislature who voted for it. These are people who have no respect for you or for your vote. Its time to return the favor.

Hell no, they’re going to stay and try to make his life a living hell.

Here is a bit more on Tokyo Rose. Convicted in the court of public opinion and sent to jail. The whole story is somewhat strange. A money grubbing journalist seems to be a major issue of why she may have gone to jail. Interesting that she avoided the Japanese internment in the US but got stuck in Japan due to the timing of the Pearl Harbor attack.
