The physical comes as the venom starts to destroy the flesh around the bite and workings its way out from there. The cure will devastate your wallet if you do not have insurance. Thankfully both were minimized by quick treatment (within a few hours) and having insurance. I understand rattle snake venom works much quicker. There is anti-venoms made for all kinds of venomous creatures, spiders, ticks, various aquatic creatures. Some require different methods to obtain the venom from them, and most likely different methods for creating the anti-venom as well.

It depends on where the bite is and where the venom is deposited. If, by bad luck, the venom is injected into or very near a large blood vessel, things happen very quickly, and there may not be any effective treatment as venom flowing in the bloodstream gets deposited into and starts to digest internal organs.

I’ve been tempted to buy rattle snake venom for my dog because she runs around a lot off leash but have not done it. They also have classes to teach the dog to stay away from the rattle. Not done that either. She has first hand experience getting the poop scared out of her coming around corners to face a snake, and that seemed to do the trick for her.
