TEMU app software has the full array of characteristics of the most aggressive forms of malware/spyware. The app has hidden functions that allow for extensive data exfiltration unbeknown to users, potentially giving bad actors full access to almost all data on customers’ mobile devices. It is evident that great efforts were taken to intentionally hide the malicious intent and intrusiveness of the software. We engaged numerous independent data security experts to decompile and analyze TEMU app’s code, integrated with experts of our own staff, and analysts who have written independently in the public domain. Contributing to the danger of mass data exfiltration is the fast uptake rate of the TEMU app: over 100 million app downloads in the last 9 months, all in U.S. and Europe. TEMU is not offered in China. The TEMU app development team includes 100 engineers who built the Pinduoduo app, which earned a suspension from the Google Play Store. Pinduoduo app got reinstated by removing the 'bad parts', some of which were identically utilized as components of the TEMU app, strongly indicating malicious intent.
We strongly suspect that TEMU is already, or intends to, illegally sell stolen data from Western country customers to sustain a business model that is otherwise doomed for failure. Cheap China shopping apps have previously proven that the business model is simply not sustainably profitable.
TEMU is a notoriously bad actor in its industry. We see rampant user manipulation, chain-letter-like affinity scams to drive signups, and overall, the most aggressive and questionable techniques to manipulate large numbers of people to install the app.

Instagram = Meta (Zuckerberg). He’s owned it for eleven years.
Beware of it. The advertisements tend to lean towards bathing suits and intimate apparel.

All of which you can avoid with common sense. But where is the alarm about “data exfiltration” that started the article? What is that all about? Just stealing credit card numbers? Worse? Blackmail? Worse?
Getting Joe down to 5% from his current 10%?
We are still not nearing the full story about Temu.
I saw an ad for something interesting and clicked on it. It made me click some permission form and give email address in order to view site. It was Temu. Next day, I read article that said Temu was spyware. I tried to see if it downloaded anything, but I really don’t know how. Worrisome. :(
Looking to make wise use of the funds God provides, I have bought many things from TEMU using my desktop computer, but never used our ministries smartphone (inferior to desktop for shopping, forums, research, etc.) to buy anything.
But where else can you get such items as gospel T-shirts such as this for $6.74 and free shipping?:
$70.1 Also things like bike seat covers for under $1.50, etc. Half the price of Ebay and even far less than Amazon.
Thank God we can even but such, even while funding China, but as most everything you buy in America - if you can even get it - depends on countries with bad governments.
God forbid you go without a gospel t shirt. That would be terrible. I’m sure you don’t have 4 of those things already. And 1.50 bike seat covers? What will we do without them? It’s a good thing tou only gave up your information and that of your ministry. That would have had worldwide ramifications, for sure.
It’s a good thing you only gave up your information and NOT your ministry’s.
OOPS... Been there, done that. :(
:) I bought a bunch of hats for the Church with the “Normal isn’t coming back, Jesus is” and they loved it... :)
As if Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and instagram don’t do as much
It should be blocked in the USA, along with tiktok.
.
Their ads pop up EVERYWHERE! It is very annoying but what can you do about it? I wouldn’t buy anything from them.
Temu like alibaba sells fake counterfeit products.
Both will sell you a 2000 dollar product for 200 if you are stupid enough to buy it.
