Staten Island migrant shelter suffering a sewage crisis that stinks up the neighborhood as residents complain the building was never suitable to house people - 'It's disgusting and nobody should be subject to that'

The migrant crisis worsens in New York City as a Staten Island shelter continues to cause hygiene issues in the area.

School turned controversial shelter, St. John Villa Academy is currently housing nearly 300 migrants, something it was never built to do.

The 67-year-old building is currently acting as full-time residence and bathroom for the migrants in the area. Due to the age and purpose of the building, it was never meant for 24/7 use, and the ejector pumps are incapable of moving huge quantities of raw sewage into the city's sewers.

To address the issue, a septic-treatment company visits the location multiple times a day to pump the raw sewage into a concrete pit, which usually takes 15 minutes and takes it away. During this time, the abhorrent smell plagues the neighborhood.

Scott Herkert who lives adjacent to the shelter told DailyMail.com: 'So directly connecting to my property is the school and along the fence that's connecting, they have their showers which I'm sorry, shower slash bathrooms.

'At least once a day they're coming in and they're pumping these out and when they do pump it out, it smells, it smells like what you would expect it to smell. They're pumping out a bathroom and the f*** out of here and shit.'

He says that the street is closed off and will remain so until the issue is resolved.

Herkert further criticizes the government and says that they are lying and handling the situation terribly.

'You're lying to the people, you're lying to the people about the border crisis, you're lying to the people in the cities and the communities had we not exposed this,' he tells DailyMail.com

Herkert also claimed that while the school in the area and the Church have asked people to be compassionate towards...

Look at it the way the Marthas do down at the vineyard. It’s free life enrichment and helps you build up your strength and crap.

Oh, gee I am so sorry that the shelter being provided is below your standards! Why don’t you just get in contact with your friend Bracko Bama and see if he’s got some space. I’m sure you’ll be welcome. Maybe Eric Adams has a sanctuary prepared for you.

Perhaps you missed that the person interviewed in the excerpt lives next door to the shelter.

Remember when AOC complained that migrants at the border were forced to drink toilet water, and then we found out that it was a combo sink and toilet fixture?

It seems like the housing was better at the border despite the larger number of people streaming through.

Well, sorry about the smell but remember it is the turd rolling, Dung Beetle Party who has put no limit on the amount of this sewage we’re going to continue taking in. It seems like all those sh*tty diapers the border patrol guys were changing would have given them some sort of hint that this wasn’t going to end pretty.

Back in the early ‘90s the multinational company I worked for was going through its death throes. Nevertheless, HR decided to subject the professional employees to racial sensitivity training. At our session, the facilitator asked each one in the group to say the first thing that came to mind when a word was stated. The first word was “Hispanic.” A senior manager in the group responded with “stink.”

That ended the sessions for our group.

It was the end of the day. We all went out for drinks.

When I had my smaller farm, there was a small hog operation across the road from me for a few years. Those Southerly Breezes could take your breath away some days!

I can only imagine what that ‘shelter’ has been smelling like on these last, hot, humid days of a lovely Staten Island Summer! Ugh!

Right. NYC should declare itself to be a “Super Sanctuary City”.
There is nothing that liberal virtue-signaling cannot solve.

We had a bidirectional piston ejection system. It fills one half of the holding tank (4,000 gallons) then compressed air drives the ejection piston to move the sewage to the uphill main sewer line. A lot of valves have to open and close completely for the process (from the 1950's) to work. Age and corrosion tends to make it fail a lot. Fixing it was awful. Spare parts don't exist. Pumping it out is not a solution. That's done only so you can climb in it to fix it with a confined space entry permit.

Finding a plumbing contractor with that experience and skilled staff rarely exists these days. It would be a municipal project bid out to upgrade to a new technology system, and a three year window.
