There is an ongoing legal dispute between yacht broker Merle Wood (MWA) and Oceanco. MWA alleges that they are owed a 5% commission on the sale of the yacht Seven Seas to Spielberg. Oceanco denies the existence of such an agreement.

The Dutch court in Rotterdam has ruled that MWA has the right to request a preliminary witness hearing to gather evidence and clarify their position. However, Steven Spielberg is not a party in this conflict.

The yacht was delivered to Spielberg in July 2023 after accommodating some additional owner requests and guarantee works.

Generally, 10% of cost is a good estimate to maintain a vessel.

Ugly looking boat.

It would be a pretty nice looking home from the 1960’s (the top three decks). Put it up on a hill overlooking the ocean.

Personally I’d want a deck gun. For piracy. Not to defend against it, to commit it. That crew of 30 has to have a boarding party in it.

Yes. We had a decent sized boat at one time. 10% - 20% for the dockage, insurance, maintenance and fuel was what we were shelling out. Boats are a money pit.

Jackie Mason famously once joked in his concert, ‘The world According To Me’, drawing gales of laughter from a largely Jewish audience... “Why does a Jew want a boat? There’s no bigger putz, than a Jew with a boat”.

Looks like Spielberg got a little more for his money than Dr Evil Bezos did for his half billion dollar boat.
