Charlie Kirk is saying the owners are Liberal Obama supporters.

Looks like the heat is on.

Microsoft protected passwords of terrorists but the gun safe company won’t protect patriots.

Like someone said in an early post about this.

If they didn’t have the combo, they’d just break into it.

Tom Gresham advertised for them back when I was listening to his show. I wonder what his take is on this.

denounced the company as “an enemy to gun owners” and said it should have pushed back against the warrant. O

Agreed. and hopefully a lot of discussion on this will change things for the next time.

Use your outside voice.

Liberty Safe is currently owned by an investment company called Monomoy Capital Partners LP. Monomoy Capital Partners is a private equity firm with over $2.7 billion in committed capital.

Per Open Secrets, virtually all their political contributions were to Democrats.

LOL—about 10 years ago I wanted a Liberty safe but couldn’t afford it. So I got a Bighorn at 1/3 the price with the same ratings. I removed the digital keypad and replaced it with a “Sargent and Greenleaf” combination lock.

Liberty, you’re screwed now because leftists aren’t buying safes and you pissed off the people that do!

I understand if Liberty Safe was given a subpoena they really have to comply or face big problems.

What I don’t understand is why a subpoena was issued in the first place. I want to see the probable cause that somehow something in the safe was germane to Jan 6.

LEO have to disclose exactly what they are search for in the application of the warrant.

Fishing expeditions are unconstitutional and illegal.

Too late.

They’ve had their “Bud Light Moment”.

Glad I don’t have any of their junk.

Liberty safes may as well start the “going out of business” sale now. I doubt there will be many of their safes on people’s Christmas list this year.

In the above linked article, Charlie Kirk lists some of the politicians the the company donated to in the past. Democrat Warnock of Georgia is one.

They also could have not done it IF the safe owner did not grant permission.

Seems like there is a bigger issue here.

If my home is protected by a digital lock on the front door, does Fedgov have the right to make the lock maker open it?
Does Fedgov have the right to activate the microphone on my cell phone, or the camera on my private computer?
If my car has OnStar, can Fedgov access it to listen in on me or disable its engine?

The answer to all should be NO, not without the owner's permission.

Silly and avoidable. What Liberty should have said was, "OK, send us a warrant and we'll have our legal counsel examine it and recommend action." Like nearly every responsible corporation. It could have been done in an hour.

The problem isn't really a legal one anymore, it's a perception that Liberty safes aren't safe. Likening this to the Bud Light fiasco does have a certain merit: alienate your customer base and you're going to lose sales. And they're going to.

I never did like gun safes. I like loaded forearms close at hand.

They should never have given any information to law enforcement without a direct warrant for them requiring them to do so.

Showing up with a search warrant against John Smith, provides no legal, ethical or moral requirement on anyone to provide information about their sale, service or other interactions with John Smith. This company has shown it cares not about its customers privacy or constitutional rights.

When the cops show up with a warrant that requires you to turn over information, like the combination to a safe you sold, you have to comply, otherwise they should be telling LEO to come back with a warrant… and a warrant thr requires your compliance not a warrant against someone else.

When I worked in the steel fabrication shops in the oil and gas fields we often made steel boxes to store explosives in. They had a simple method of making the lock so one could not break the lock and get in.

I then made my gun boxes the same way but made it extremely tough to get into them even if you have a key. The only way to break in is to use a cutting torch or grinder. And to make that even tougher I welded brackets on the inside of the boxes near the locks which I stick cans of GOEX black powder with the lids off. Any touch with a torch or grinder and BOOM!

I rarely open that gun box as it is so hard to get into!

Had Liberty kept up with current events, they would have seen red flags everywhere when the FBgestapo came calling.
