I don’t use Brave, but it sounds like a security issue in the Brave settings.
I have noticed that browsing Youtube using Brave on my laptop no longer blocks ads which really ticks me off.
Oddly, browsing Youtube on my Android phone while using Brave still blocks ads. Go figure?
I have had problems with it since yesterday. Yesterday afternoon it wouldn’t open at all. This morning it did open but does some crazy stuff.
It would help to know what platform are you on, Windows, macOS, Linux, other?
I show this:
“Brave is up to date
Version 1.57.57 Chromium: 116.0.5845.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)”
.
This response shows that my copy of Brave is working just fine...
Restart. If that doesn’t work, roll it back.
Switch to DuckDuckGo.
Yes!
I do IT stuff for The Gateway Pundit (and a number of other sites), and hear from many readers about the problems they’ve recently been having with Brave.

The solution is to disable “shields” when a particular site isn’t rendering for you.
Running fine for me.
Fresh install (About a month ago.) on a new Win 11 laptop.
Version 1.57.57 Chromium: 116.0.5845.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Shields up on YouTube. No ads and everything plays.
I have had to drop shields on a few financial sites for them to recognize my login info and such.
