This is purely a Trump idea. It’s fine that he’s using it but let’s not pretend he used his years of experience, thought this through, and came up with the idea.

And it is only going to get worse with the amount of weed people are smoking. It has been shown to contribute to Schizophrenia and do I have to even state the obvious, it is not a motivator to do any work of any kind.

There are two basic problems in the modern world.

1) Humans don’t spend enough time chasing and trying to kill something to eat.

2) Humans don’t spend enough time running from things that want to eat them.

We seem to understand what feeding the bears does to them but we seem to lack in self-awareness of what a world of free excess will do to humans.

That is a better position than having no position other than opposing gun control. At least Vivek is saying something both too many Dims and too many in the GOP leave out of the “gun violence” discussion

Luke 9:49-50

And John, answering, said: Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name: and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said to him: Forbid him not: for he that is not against you is for you.

He’s talking about bringing back psychiatric care, which is needed; however, that will ultimately happen through a panel of unelected beauracrats who I guarantee you will all be ANTI-2nd amendment.

See where this goes?

It isn’t just a slippery slope.......it’s an ice covered cliff.

“We have a mental health epidemic.”

________________________________________

Actually the root of the problem goes deeper than that. We have a cultural health epidemic. A spiritual health epidemic.

Unless and until America returns to its core values of decency and democracy, we will never make America great again.

And this is where Vivek, a Hindu, will never succeed. Even Trump, who did make America great, did not manage to keep it that way.

look to the pharmaceuticals and antidepressants for answers to the school shootings, if you dare.

That passage of scripture along with it’s identical account in Mark helped me move past the fog of exclusive sectanarianism I grew up in. Long unrelated story to this thread but I had to toss that in :-)

True. I believe that there is an inherent need to hunt. If suppressed it will manifest itself in other ways. Could be collecting Beanie Babies, could be in serial killing. A well-fed cat still kills things.

He’s right, but this problem isn’t confined to guns. A LARGE percentage of the homeless also have mental health issues. It may be too big an elephant to swallow at once, but if they could work out a way to tackle both, I think society as a whole would be much better off.

He might be right, but he is still worthless. Vote for Trump who is decent and informed.

No, we do not have a mental health problem. That is a cop out to give criminals an escape from justice. We have a discipline problem. It starts at a young age and continues into criminal adulthoods.

We do when doctors are giving their patients prescriptions for ever little sniffle. Oh and of course trying to force an experimental deadly jab for every patient that visits.
