He is a pastor and will give these kids a good father figure. Prayers up for Deion.
Too bad the good ole boys at Auburn failed to understand why he is so successful. Auburn will play second fiddle to Alabama for the next twenty years. Hope they enjoy the sour notes.
Personally, I like Deion, I think he’s great for college football and I’m a UF Gator Fan and he beat our ass a couple of times.
He’s will likely be a real force in college football, he will get some great players to transfer to CU and will be able to recruit a bunch more.
I would not be surprised if he competes for a national title by year 3 who knows, maybe next year.
His son is a helluva QB and will be an NFL QB in the future.
Travis Hunter was originally scheduled to sign with FSU and at the last-minute Deion snatched him away from them and he signed with Jackson State and then transferred to CU.
Hunter played both ways yesterday over 100 snaps, catching numerous passes for over 100 yards and had several pass break ups on defense along with a key interception.
CU plays Nebraska this weekend in Boulder, if they beat Nebraska which after this weekend would not be an upset, the game should be really fun to watch.
Deion’s brash ways and him thanking Jesus for everything combined with him being black is not well liked by a lot of people which is stupid, the guy is a hall of fame player and is on track to a fantastic football coach.
If Deion has a big year at Colorado he won’t be there long. One of the big power schools will snap him up.
Hopefully the players that were cut who were making good academic progress didn’t lose their scholarships.
Impressed by the win, and hope CU continues to be successful. They will need to address three areas highlighted by yesterday’s victory:
• A better running game
• Soft defense at times, mainly in the middle
• Availability of Hunter to go both ways for the entire season
No matter what, CU will be entertaining this season.
CU is a big power school, they are in the PAC-12 this year before moving to the Big 12 next year, they have all the money and facilities to compete for national title.
He could leave but I doubt it, not for some time anyway, he won’t leave after 1-2 great years unless CU screws it up.
He puts Sunbelt Billy to shame.
Oh, and at least you didn’t see two CU players with the same number on the field.
UGA Athens stadium holds 92,000 seats. Cu stadium holds 55,000 seats. CU needs to add more seats to compete with the big kid programs. Otherwise, with 12 teams in the playoffs next season, CU could make big noise soon. Rose, Orange, and more.
I watched the press conference and I could only catch about every 3rd word he said.
“One of the big power schools will snap him up”
Or an NFL team. Would Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys) hire him? I say yes.
I can see him in the SEC or NFL in a couple of years if this is any indication. His son looked great.
I noticed a “JC” on his sweatshirt. Was a Christ reference?
IMHO Deion works better with those young kids who have never had a father-figure in their lives, not so sure it would translate as well to the NFL.
In this day and age giant stadiums aren’t not that big of a deal anymore.
It’s the conference media right games that pays the bills, a number of universities are talking about lowering the attendance at games.
Every game is on TV, conference revenue is huge and getting bigger, especially if you are in a power 5 conference, which CU is.
They have the Alumni base to generate plenty of revenue thru boosters and can compete with anyone.
Sports betting is the big thing now.
Nor did you see 8 people line up for a Utah FG.
And once again we’re the laughingstock of College Football, I heard CBS mentioning it during the Ohio State-Indiana game.
Florida’s legacy for the last ten years:
Two players blocking each other.
Losing a star quarterback over OTC medication.
Throwing a shoe to lose a game.
Two players with the same number.
