You did a good job disciplining your daughter like that. Now if only more parents could follow suit.
I know. I wanted to pull her out by her feet and let her head go bump-ba-bump on the concrete.

I think she was high before she got into the car in the first place. Dad noticed and decided no more.

In my view, my job as a parent was to prepare my children for the real world.
That was the basis for every parenting decision - loving encouragement for positive behavior, tough love for negative behavior. But they always knew where they stood with me. I insisted on telling the truth, both ways.
My wife learned to help with the tough love part, although it was very difficult for her.
Fortunately, all my children are successfully independent, happy, and love us. We gave them roots and wings.
Letting children do whatever they want is not a good way to prepare them. The world will teach them the hard way. They will experience some pretty harsh lessons.
Weak parents shirk their responsibilities.

She’s high as a kite and her dad said she had been in rehab but left. I feel for him. Addiction takes hold of all types, poor, rich, black, white. I’m glad he’s pressing charges - he admitted he had been an enabler and he finally is doing the right thing. There but for the grace of God go I.

That poor father. This is the face of addiction and mental illness and there are so many young people like her.
Easy for you to judge that Father. if you heard him, she was in rehab and she got kicked out. She is about to be evicted. She is under the influence. Believe me, this is not the first time but it appears to be the last. Everybody has their limits. It’s called tough love and the did the right thing. He is done with her. He cannot help her. Hopefully, she will get the help she needs.
