New Jersey Nursing Homes Slammed by COVID Surge as COVID Deaths Rise Across the US

As COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths continue to rise, facilities that care for the elderly are being hit especially hard.

In the last week, one out of every four nursing homes or assisted living facilities in New Jersey has reported a COVID outbreak, according to official state data. Among the 615 nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the state, there are currently 158 active outbreaks affecting 534 employees and more than 1,300 residents.

However, New Jersey is far from the only state inflicted with rising COVID counts. Across the United States, COVID-related hospitalizations have risen week over week since mid-July. Last week, hospitalizations rose by 19%, while deaths increased by nearly 18%.

Mask mandates have also started to reemerge at some schools, hospitals and businesses across the U.S. as well.

Despite this, neither health experts nor government officials have signaled that widespread mandates will make a return.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said that mask requirements are not expected to be needed again, at least not any time soon. Similarly, the Transportation Security Administration recently shot down rumors that they had briefed their managers in preparation of reinstating masking policies; a spokesperson for the administration denied the claims to the Associated Press.

Although it does not appear as though widespread COVID mandates will be making a return any time soon, health experts still recommend that members of vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and immunocompromised, and those who care for them practice caution during this time. Many have suggested that this group mask up in public places and also consider getting the updated COVID boosters when they become available later in the fall.

Probably. Since this is supposedly hurting the elderly, I have a plan.
Old people can stay home if they want. Everyone else continues working or gets sent to Ukraine.

OK. Give us your address. Better yet, why not just give us the address of her “facility” and we’ll check it out for ourselves. What is a “facility” anyway? Hospital, nursing home, hospice care?

Please do post some videos of the nurses line dancing. It really was heartening to see those “heroes” dance while overwhelmed with patients.

How many are dying? How many have 3 or more comorbidities or are severely, morbidly obese? You left out some critical info

Seems a little premature. We don’t vote for another year.

Exadtly- not only that, but these supposedly overworked hospitals (due to covid cases they proclsimed) were so desperate for help that they fired many docs, nurses, Healthcare workers etc because they wouldn’t get vaccinated- an extremely odd thing considering how “understaffed due to rising covid cases” they claimed they were

My 90 year old parents are at a nursing home. We were advised of an “outbreak” 2 weeks ago. The outbreak was that one aide reported they tested positive at home. The nursing home immediately put in outbreak measures, 95 masks, testing etc. After 2 weeks no new positive tests and they ended the measures.

My question is did the aide really test positive or just want some time off? A second question is this outbreak is nothing like the ones that killed many residents in the first waves.

My wife had surgery this past Monday. We spent the day there and I talked to a lot of people while waiting for her.

No one - and I mean no one - mentioned covid. It was a normal day to all the people who work there.

Oh the left will make sure the numbers far exceed 80,000 as they label “covid deaths” for everything from drunk driving accident/deaths to pneumonia as “covid deaths” like they did last time. They even changed the definition used to determine covid deaths to inc,use anyone who had covid and died within a month or so (can’t remember the number of days nkw) of getting covid- no matter what the actual cause of death was, and that was cdc determination too- someone posted the actual change to the policy on fr awhi.e back

It is claimed that hospitals were given a large amount of $$ ($50,000?) Per “covid death” during the pandemic. Not,sure if that is true or not, but if so, wow! What a scummy thing to do as it would have incentivized them to falsely claim people, died from covid when they actually didn’t

[[We were advised of an “outbreak” 2 weeks ago. The outbreak was that one aide reported they tested positive at home]]

There was so much lying and gaslighting and hype going on- so much fraud that actuslly ended up costing lives in the long run too- like Cuomo and Whitmer etc intentionally sending covid sick people into nursing homes where our nation’s most vulnerable people were- the ones who truly needed to be isolated from sick people due to,their poor health and multiple conditions.

The sick thing is that the medical community rode that wave of deceit and corruption, and lying, and threw their “do no harm” oath right out the window!

There are reports that show the hospitals received financial incentives to use remdesivir, and ventilators.

Also that legislation was written that shielded them from liability for ‘ covid’ deaths but only if they used the FDA approved Fauci protocol…yep, remdesivir and vents,

Even though they KNEW the remdesivir was leading to organ / kidney and liver. failure, then the vents were destroying lungs damaged by inflammation and flooded in body fluid

What hospital? Where? Everyone is calling you out—you’re going to have to back this up or withdraw it.

I agree...we always saw pneumonia as a biggie for seniors...they simply aren’t active enough to keep up with the needs of their body...and death misses no one.
