It is missing the all important jalapeno or two.
"In essence, white deer symbolize messages from the divine. Native Americans believed that seeing two white deer together was a sign that Indigenous Peoples would unite to lead the world with higher spiritual wisdom.
The Celts believed that a white deer brought messages from the spirit world. In addition, they believed that seeing a white deer was a reminder to live up to the standards of the gods and to follow a path of righteousness.
In Kamakura, Japan, there is a story of when the Zen Engakuji Temple was built in the 13th century. When the founder of the temple gave the first sermon, a herd of white deer emerged from a cave to listen. "
Mango is a cousin to poison ivy so be careful if you’re allergic.
We make a lot of it. But we use no recipe. We add all the good stuff. Onions, Tomatoes, peppers, etc tomatillos ..and more. Heat it up and add chili powder, cumin etc. We like it mild so we add nothing hot until the concoction heats up. Then some hot chili, but only a litte
Then we can it all...lots of it in pints. We do add extra vinegar to provide more protection after canning. Keeps for two plus years on the shelf and we have never had one pint go bad. We do not pressure can this ...only boiling water bath
So add what you want to taste. It will be your personal batch you cannot buy in a store.
Tomatoes grew well this year. fiftey plus quarts canned for lots of pots of chili this winter...we love chili
.
La Victoria Salsa Suprema is my favorite.
And their Salsa Ranchera, and Salsa Jalapeno are runners up.
All 'Hot' - of course.
I have to say that for seeds you harvested from store bought tomatoes they seem to have a good yield!
Blight. You might research whether dilute solution of baking soda and neem oil would help with fungal blight.
The deer, in general, eat my mom’s plants (hostas, sedum) & flowers (day lilies, roses, petunias, pansies) & upset her greatly. I have told her countless times that if she insists on planting a gourmet salad bar deer buffet, she can be assured the deer will enjoy it! At 90 years old, she’s not making any changes. I have fencing around my garden to keep the deer away from my plants/produce.
We eat a lot of venison ... it’s probably at least 50% of the meat I eat annually. My SIL keeps the backstraps & I get a most of the rest of what my brother harvests.
The white deer likely won’t make it through hunting season this fall, which is sad. My brother won’t shoot it, but some guys at the end of the road will have no qualms about doing just that. So I am enjoying the times I see it, like this morning. My dad would have loved seeing it too, but he passed away in January ... maybe the white deer appearing this spring was a message from a very old, dearly departed, country boy/hunter ... before he passed he was telling us he had been hunting with men all in white & the hunting dogs were all white .... he didn’t mention deer (I think they were bird hunting), but I suspect any deer would have been white, too.
Looks good Liz, thanks!

Thank God, but seeds were not from store bought, but saved from seeds I have bought, though some were new from package.

Helpful link on Copper Fungicides, as for dilute solution of baking soda and neem oil, maybe next year I also uses hydrogen peroxide and even some diluted aspirin. But the 2 wettest summer on record, with lower than average temps, then I do not think any spray would be of much help this year. Try again.
Can deseed the jalapenos for less heat.
(Good luck!)
Men at the end of the road.... If you enlist their wives maybe they will talk to the men.... "Did you see that white deer? Pretty neat isn't it! Wonder if it will make it til winter!"
Just made a double batch of that shishito sauce. Love it. Have a small steak for today, had some on a burger no bun and it was awesome. Thats a nice pepper link I saved it. We only grow shishito and Costa Rican red peppers and one banana pepper plant. Shishitos almost done. Costa Ricans, we have a boatload and just about to pick the second red one.
I only make fresh salsa and only in the summer. Fresh chopped tomato, sweet onion, cilantro and a teaspoon or two of pickled jalapeno juice.
Beautiful produce! My garden is still Full Speed Ahead - though I am pulling the broccoli now, and will replant with purple broccoli in a few weeks. (Starts are coming along well!)
I have my big pots prepped for spinach, lettuces, arugula and radishes.
The first of our five apple trees is ready; the Haralson. I baked 2 pies this morning, and will start a batch of apple sauce in the crock pot later today...and will be canning/baking/cooking with apples for weeks to come.

Their wives wear long, flowing body covering ‘robes’ & head coverings, if you get my drift. They are neither friendly, nor good neighbors - there are times when lots of shooting happens, sounds like multiple people going through a lot of ammo. I would not visit on their property without being accompanied by a Special Forces/Ops team (no joke).
Diana’s Summer Salsa
4 cups tomatoes, seeded and chopped small
1 green and 1 small red pepper, chopped small
1 sweet onion, finely chopped (about 1 cup)
1 Jalapeno, seeded and membrane removed, finely chopped
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. ground chipotle (or Smoked Paprika)
2 Tbsp Lime Juice
1 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Drizzle with EVOO after combined (olive oil)
Mix together and enjoy with chips or on anything you want. Add some drops of hot sauce if you want more spice. Store remainder covered in the fridge. Eat within a few days for best flavor/consistency; if it becomes too ‘wet’ just drain it.
There is a woman on YouTube who is allergic to nightshades, and she has versions of stuff like spaghetti sauce with no tomatoes etc.

Do you have a link by chance?
I am ‘allergic’ to nightshades; however, I bite the bullet & have jalapeƱo poppers on occasion & this week, I have eaten a couple of tomato sandwiches .... of course, I have heartburn & feel awful (IBS-like symptoms), but after this weekend, tomatoes will be off limits again.
Yes, this is the woman here- she has a number of videos on YT-

I’m gonna have a tomatoe sandwhich tonight- nice sun ripened on the vine from our garden- even htough it’ll hurt- I have to have a toasted tomatoe sandwhich at least 3-4 tiems a year lol
I made a gallon of salasa with some of my tomato crop. Question, my tomato plants are getting the leaves eaten down by tomato worms and grass hoppers. Should I cut the leafless stems off or leave them? Will they grow new leaves?
You can cut those leafless stems off. Hopefully you’ll still have ripening tomatoes at this point.
What’s eating your plants to the nub are those horn worms. Evil critters! Kill them when you see them!
