The Flat Earther next door: These are the US states with highest share of conspiracy theorists, based on residents' internet search history... so do YOU live in a flat or round state? Alaskans were the most interested in 'Flat Earth' theories, Google searches show New Jersey natives entertained 'Flat Earth' claims least, per same search data
Earth's greatest minds have known our world is round since at least as far back as the day Pythagoras made his calculations in ancient Greece over 2,000 years ago.
But as you might have guessed from fighting with relatives and old friends on Facebook, as many as 10 percent of Americans still believe the earth is flat, according to survey data compiled in 2021.
If you're looking for a place offline to get away from conversations about 'Flat Earth' conspiracy theories (or maybe where to go to join your fellow true believers), a new analysis of Google searches across all 50 US states might help.
Die-hard 'Flat Earthers' may want to bundle up before relocating to Alaska, whose residents searched the most for information on the widely discredited theory.
And those looking to move on from the 'Flat Earth' debate entirely may want to find space in the densely populated state of New Jersey, which had the lowest interest in researching the topic online per 10,000 residents.
Find out below if you live in a 'Flat State' or a 'Round State.'

I want you to see my replies.
I want you to make your case—even if I disagree with it.
Trolls recognizing shills. Go with that.
I want you to show me where I said Mars was flat.
You scoff. Woe to you.
If I misquoted you correct me and explain.
It isn’t about your understanding, you want to prevent others
from understanding and that makes you an even bigger fool, TROLL.

There are a lot of “conspiracy theories” that are just true. Flat earth isn’t one of them. It’s not representative of the “conspiracy theories” that people would have reason to click.
Westerners “have more geology” than Easterners — mountains, deserts, volcanos, earthquakes — so they are more likely to click on something geology-related than New Jerseyans. More open spaces, more UFOs, so why not more queries about Flat Earth theories? They don’t necessarily believe the theories.
Because we can see too far with zoom equipment.
Consider basic geometry. It shows your assumption is incorrect. I have observed, with my naked eyes. mountains 50 to 60 miles away. The higher you are, the further you can see on a spherical earth. There are limits on the transmission of light through the atmosphere, for various reasons, particulates in the atmosphere, for example. The air tends to be more clear the higher you go, which helps.
Why not?
Parallax.
Why wouldn't you have parallax on a flat surface? For slight curvatures, the difference in parallax between flat and curved is not easily detectable.
Who builds a computer that doesn't work in its environment?
As many as 40% believe libtards aren’t trying to screw them over
Mostly blue state ding dongs
When you're on a mountain do you look down to the horizon
or does the horizon come up to eye level?
YOU consider basic geometry
The flat surface isn't moving.
