MARION COUNTY, FL — A man wearing a shirt that read, “I’m The Reason The Beer’s Always Gone” was arrested Aug. 16 and charged with driving under the influence, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.

He was nearly three times over the legal blood alcohol content limit at the time of his arrest, the agency said.

James Rix Jr. was clocked going 89 mph in a 45 mph during radar patrol near Marion Oaks Boulevard and Marion Oaks Manor. He initially led deputies on a chase, trying to elude them, but he was eventually pulled over on Southwest 32nd Circle.

The arresting deputy smelled alcohol coming from Rix’s breath and saw that he “was unsteady on his feet,” the sheriff’s office said. The deputy decided his “normal faculties were impaired” after he performed field sobriety exercises.

Once under arrest, Rix “went from cooperative and in a good mood to verbally aggressive and rude,” the agency said.

He was brought to the Marion County Jail, where his breath samples showed blood alcohol contents of .204 and .200 — nearly three times the legal limit, MCSO said.

Rix was charged with DUI and fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer. He also received traffic citations for unlawful speed and possession of an open container in a vehicle.

Another victim of Bud Light? He should enjoy prison.

I have no tolerance for drunk drivers.

I’ve had multiple family members maimed from them.

My brother wore a Budweiser T-shirt to court for his DUI hearing.

He wasn't expecting the jail sentence he was handed.

Which was?

I had a friend who owned a bar & he took bets. He was a big man and always wore overalls. He got ticketed for booking and when he went to court the judge fined him. His lawyer asked him what all the paper was in the front of his overalls and it was bookie sheets.
