A teenager died after he crashed his car while trying to flee officers in Massachusetts - smashing into the side of a property.
The 19-year-old man was going so fast that the engine of his 2011 Nissan Altima flew through the second floor of the home in Belchertown, Massachusetts, on Sunday night.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at around 8.45pm when they spotted the car speeding down Route 202 South.
The driver sped away from the trooper, running a red light at an intersection before careering off the side of the road, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Investigations by state cops show that the car then flew off the curb before hitting a rock wall and a tree.
It smashed into a light post, a property on North Main Street and then careered into the front end of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. A 2020 Buick Envision was also damaged.
The engine was launched out of the vehicle and went through the outside of a neighboring house on North Main Street before landing on the second floor of the home.
Police are not identifying the diver, who was thrown from the car and pronounced dead on the scene.
Neighbors described the crash to WWLP-22 as the 'loudest sound' they had ever heard.
Mike Forgue added: 'It was a loud sound. It was kind of amazing actually. You could tell something serious had happened.'

Learned to drive playing GTA.
I’m in my late 70s. When I was a teen we all knew “run from the cops and when they catch you they’ll beat the crap out of you. Break a rib or two”.
So, when they lit us up we pulled over and coughed up lots of “Yessirs” and “No sirs”. Those days are long gone.
I wonder whether the victims’ homeowner’s insurance will cover that. Pictures show a house that was probably around 150 years old.
9. Coming to “Live PD” or “Best Police Chases” on TV.
It was always a judgement call, as to whether to run or not. Generally, though, not running was the better choice for the reasons you've stated. But you always have to consider if escape is a likely possibility.
We called Datsuns the original Japanese car made from recycled beer cans. Changing their name did not get rid of the el-cheapo aura. Rental fleets love the things.
Seems the beer can analogy still holds true. The newer ones I have rented were not too bad, but you would never mistake it for a Toyota or Honda.
Something similar.....
Must have been summer 1976 we were all awakened around 2 am by a loud metal crunching.
Across the road some drunk put his red Impala into the ditch at a high rate of speed and rolled the car over several times.
We all rushed over there to find the dazed driver, with nary a scratch on him, sitting on the neighbors yard next to the engine. The car was in pieces everywhere.
Go figure.....
Yes, it would, I think. What happens or what is supposed to happen though, is the DS’s insurance company is supposed to pay. That’s why liability insurance or “proof of financial responsibility” is required in (almost) every state. I’m no insurance agent though, so maybe I have some details wrong.
All of this assumes DS wasn’t driving a stolen car, or was driving his own car and was properly insured.
...ending his career...
;)
Nothing compared to a Porsche that flew into a New Jersey 2nd-floor bedroom!
How many people could have been killed by this idiot? He won’t be behind the wheel again.
Still no ID on the driver who lived in NH and had a fake VT ID.
Go figure.
Well, here’s a name...

Belchertown is Trump Country. North of Amherst, a predictably left-wing college town, (Zoo Mass, and Amherst College).
My wife fell in love with a bright red 2009 Altima. A real piece of crap. Will never buy another Nissan. Even she came to hate it.
Careering and careered?
Driver preferred pronouns now is Stupid and dead... Belchertown is a nice town.
