At our family homestead there’s a doorstop rock that has been on the porch for as long as I can remember — early ‘50s. Nobody knows what it is, or where it came from. It’s the color of lime Jello with white blobs in it that look like miniature marshmallows. (It isn’t lime Jello with marshmallows.)

Not even close. It’s clear — really like lime Jello. About 15” in size.

Well, the stone plaque they supposedly found in the “money pit” on Oak Island was being used as a doorstop in a bookstore for decades until it got lost.

The petrified buffalo turd would have some value, but not likely as much as a good meteorite.

It looks a little like the Green crystals of sphene. But smoother and rounder.

My brother lives on the farm now. I’ll see if he can shoot a picture to me.

Take a picture of your rock with your phone or a digital camera, and upload it to your computer.

Put the computer location of the picture into your Internet browser URL address line, and do a Goolag image search on the picture.

I've been doing that lately with unknown flowers. Works great.
