This is not good for DeSantis nor conservatives. He should have waited to run in 2028 and continued to be an excellent Governor of Florida and threw all his support for Trump 2024. We should be fighting DemoRat leftards, RINO’s and not our own conservative team. DeSantis ain’t perfect but he’s far better than most.
It’s because there is a group of posters here on FR that constantly post lies and mis-representations to attack Trump and his supporters here...

Agreed. I fear a fine governor will be going the way of Jeb and can never be resuscitated at a national level.
I don’t hate DeSantis and think he could actually be a good president down the road. Whether the establishment likes it or not Trump is going to be the nominee. They have to decide do they support him this time or climb into bed with their good friends across the aisle and support BiteMe like THEY DID IN 2020.

However, I believe he’s made a catastrophic blunder trying to run for President now. He should have aligned himself in support of Trump. Continued to work on securing Florida as a model of Republican-Conservative prosperity and security. Start laying groundwork and setting his sights on ‘28.
Some on Free Republic, seem to enjoy fighting about who is more conservative than whom. Some even say they will vote Democrat, if the Republican nominee isn’t their first choice, and/or, is too liberal on some issue.
For whatever reason, some here seem to prefer the intraparty fighting, rather than taking on the Liberals and Democrats.
If Joey pulls a climate change “”emergency” and gas goes to $10.00 dollars a gallon across the country watch the anger explode around everyone who supports the “”climate Change””fraud.....

I think they’re happy the Establishment plan is blowing up. They weren’t behind the Republican nominee in 2016. They weren’t behind the Republican president. And now they’re trying to sandbag the frontrunner (but when the frontrunner was one of THEIR guys, oh, they went after ANY candidate that started to rise).
So it’s not about DeSantis (he shouldn’t have run). It’s about their insidious plans going kaput.
