A homeowner stopped by to check on his suburban Atlanta property — only to be arrested for trespassing.
Days after the departure of a previous tenant, Tim Arko pulled into the driveway of his house in desirable Decatur, where he suddenly encountered a stranger waving a gun in his face.
“I just jumped the fence and ran. I didn’t know what else to do,” Arko told local channel WSB-TV.
“I didn’t walk in on a family eating dinner. I walked in on weapons, a prostitute, a bunch of dogs in the back, my fence broken down,” he told a reporter.
After dialing 911 to report the intrusion, Arko was astonished to find himself being arrested and taken into police custody.
“They told the police that I was a home invader and that it was their home. And so I ended up being arrested and detained,” Arko said.
Since then, Arko has been fighting to evict the alleged squatters in court.
Six months later, they are still living in Arko’s home.
Two people have died in the residence from overdoses during that time.
Code enforcement has even cited Arko for not properly maintaining the house he legally can’t access.
After lengthy court delays, an eviction order was finally signed.

A shame.
Saw a story where a building owner enraged the renters by asking for back rent or else. He came to check up later and the front door was missing.
There were drain holes in the floor where toilets had been ripped out, pipes where the sinks used to be, cables hanging down from ceilings, floors and walls gashed and splashed with paints and motor oil.
I encouraged my squatters to self evict by packing up all their belongings, and putting to the curb on trash day. I did have the courtesy to contact them and give them a heads-up that if they wanted their stuff, they had better hurry. have not had a problem since.
Most of the time they’re vagrants, drug addicts, and various criminals.
Occasionally, they’re honest people who got hoodwinked in rental scams, paying rent and deposits to fake landlords, becoming de facto squatters themselves without realizing it.
That’s going around these days as well.
I know someone who got some bikers to do it. The bikers just rolled up and then proceeded to toss everything the squatters had in the house out.
That worked for my friends. And it cost them less than $1000.
Hire some trash to wait until the leftists leave their house for work, break in, and squat. Maybe for a year or so.
And let’s keep in mind how compliant the police are to help the real criminals.
I had a lawyer basically tell me the same re a different situation (real estate contract). Pay the fee or pay me 10x as much for the same result.
I appreciated the candor.
A co-worker’s uncle died and left him his old, large estate in OK. He went out there and the home was squatted by a large group of day workers. He got a 5gal can of gas, went back and walked thru the place pouring the gas. Lit it on the way to his car. After about a year the insurance paid and he sold the land.
Ha!
guess the bikers were really the owner’s Hell’s Angels
he better hope they don’t pay any of the taxes...
