As Billy Joel might say, we didn’t start the fire.
Now that the Democrat Party has established that it’s fair game to “reimagine” the rule of law — in an attempt to jail a former president of the United States for a maximum sentence of 700 plus years — or Moses’s lifespan three times over, that benighted party should be fully prepared to accept the consequences, in the not so unlikely event that a Republican takes back the White House come January 2025.
Here is what should occur with a new GOP administration post haste.
A special counsel should immediately be appointed to investigate how the Biden family raked in millions of dollars from some of our biggest adversaries, including China and Russia, as well as Romania and Ukraine, while Joe Biden was vice president.
If the evidence becomes overwhelming (which it already appears to be) and it is uncovered that the Biden family did not provide any actual services to these shady oligarchs and foreign nationalists — other than using the office of the vice presidency to enrich themselves — then anything less than a handful of indictments for bribery, extortion, and treason should be levied against Joe, his son Hunter, and anyone else involved in this disgraceful scheme.
Simultaneously, a special counsel should be appointed to look into Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign to determine what she knew about the phony Russian dossier that her campaign funded and that was used in an attempt to take down a duly elected president of the United States.
If the evidence is overwhelming (as it already appears to be) that Clinton not only knew about the dossier, but greenlit the idea — then a series of indictments for racketeering, falsifying business records and campaign finance violations should immediately be levied against her and any of her associates who were co-conspirators, including Jake Sullivan, Biden’s current incompetent National Security Advisor, former president Barack Obama, former disgraced FBI director James Comey, former CIA director and serial liar John Brennan, and perhaps the biggest fraud of them all, Rep. Adam Schiff.
A special counsel should also be appointed to look at the behavior and state of mind of all 51 former intelligence “experts” who appeared to have knowingly and deliberately lied and defrauded the American public during the heart of the 2020 presidential election, when they claimed that Hunter Biden’s authentic and incriminating laptop was a Russian plant. If it can be proven that these “experts” knowingly and deliberately lied to the American people, then indictments, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, should immediately be brought against every single one of these corrupt individuals.
A special counsel should also be appointed to look into what communication occurred between Joe Biden, Merrick Garland and Jack Smith regarding the federal indictment of Donald Trump, as well as any communication that occurred between the White House, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis, New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, regarding possible indictments of Trump.
If it turns out, there was communication and an attempt to “get Trump” then all of these individuals should be tried under 18 U.S. Code § 201 for Bribery of public officials and witnesses.
Finally, a special counsel should look into every single Democrat politician, CNN news anchor, or Washington Post “reporter” who publicly supported and encouraged the 2020 Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots that left 2,000 police officers blinded or injured, more than two dozen people dead, and property damage that reached $2 billion.
Anyone who promoted the summer of mayhem, death and destruction, including Kamala Harris who tweeted her support to bail out violent arsonists, as well as failed anchors, Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon who encouraged and were sympathetic to these criminals that went around terrorizing communities night after night for months, should be indicted under 18 U.S. Code § 373 for Solicitation to commit a crime of violence.
If everything you just read sounds completely absurd, remember the rule of law doesn’t matter anymore.
I didn’t set the standards, the Stalinist regime in power did.
As Billy Joel might say, we didn’t start the fire.
Carpe Diem is the pseudonym for a writer who was a speechwriter in the Trump Administration.
It is foolish to think the outcome for any Republican will be different. All national elections going forward are rigged as are democrat state elections. We need to accept this reality and figure out what to do about it.
This still irks me. Of all of Trump's picks, I and many FReepers loved, loved, loved Trump picking Sessions as AG. I didn't like Trump picking Pence or others. But I thought Sessions was a home run for locking up the border and cleaning out the deep state.
And I couldn't have been more wrong. Sessions was probably my largest disappointment of Trump's first 4 years.
They will wussy’s due to their upcoming elections and don’t want to make waves by being seen as mean and vindictive.
Vote for us so we can investigate and bring justice. And then nothig, just like Hillary, IRS. etc.
I expect a return to collegiality, reaching across the aisle, sharing power, a meaningless investigation to placate the MAGA people. Maybe a handful of pardons for those languishing in the gulag.
Then they will get right back to globalism, more for Ukraine, globohomo, and global warming.
I have long believed that the top tier people in American politics should get the "audit from hell" every year. Make them account for every penny. This should be a routine part of the job and should include the president and VP, all members of the House and Senate, all governors, the ranking members of state legislative bodies (including especially those on the Finance/Ways and Means committees and the appropriators), mayors of all major cities (pick a threshold population number), and probably the top figures in city and county governments of a certain size and above. I'm flexible on the precise thresholds, but we should establish the norm that holding major public office will involve going under a microscope. Some level of scrutiny -- serious but probably not as intense -- needs to be given to family members as well.
Onerous? It certainly would be for the first couple of years as the people deep in the danger zones were being forced to unwind their shady dealings, but over time candidates for office would simply arrange their financial lives for transparency. It might sober some of them up about simplifying the tax code. I personally would not be afraid of the audit from hell, as there is nothing terribly complicated about my financial arrangements and because I have nothing to hide. Sure, I'd probably have to round up some documents and that would be a nuisance, but if I knew about it ahead of time, disciplined record keeping would become a habit.
I would applaud any president of either party who orders this on day one.
Had Trump locked up Hillary in his 4 years, the comparisons to evil despots would have been non-stop..
Now, do unto them as they have done unto you is a biblical reckoning.
Precedent has been set by the swamp.
And the swamp isn’t Democrat owned. Republicans co own the swamp.
A reckoning is coming one way or another.
The swamp doesn’t last forever.
Lawlessness and just us doesn’t last forever..
Congress is Deep State’s.
So is the SCOTUS.
Even if we get Trump elected, we still have those two issues to deal with.

Well, the Prez could only “order” (I guess via an executive order) it to be done to the executive branch of the federal government. It would not affect the legislative or judicial branches. Separation of power - three co-equal branches of government. For SES’s and for higher GS’er sit’s pretty much already done already. Th reporting mechanisms\forms on one’s finances are pretty onerous and invasive even more so if you hold a “sensitive” position. You are not to have any appearance of “impropriety”! The only people who seem to get caught by this are those who “mishandle” large contracts. There were some Navy officers & civilians recently who got caught and are facing the bar. I don’t know a lot about the case, but it seems they were stupidly obvious about their shenanigans.
The data is there for the civilian and military but having everyone audited routinely is beyond the capability of the government. There certainly aren’t that many auditors.
If for serving politicians, then you would have to have a Constitutional Amendment effectively creating a 4th branch of government in order to get around the “separation of powers” issue.
It’s a dream to expect that on the federal level. Do something about your state government. That’s the best chance you have.
Special counsel this ... special counsel that ... bull-shiite !
While those things should happen they should NOT be the focus of the new Congress. Open Keystone, Drill baby drill, cancel the green new deal, stop subsidies to windmills, solar, and other boondoggles. Get the supply chains working again, the list goes on and on.
Nothing that really needs to be done is a legal matter involving lawyers other than our congress-critters of course.
You got it!
I felt silly even reading this article. It’s like a prisoner in a gulag death camp writing about the steak he is going to eat when he gets out.
If we’re really lucky, the Republicans will join together and issue a sternly worded letter to the Dems.
That’ll teach them...
Lol, perfect analogy…

I’m working on total self sufficiency and moving away from “them”.
Take care of family and friends.
Democrats have strategically taken over key areas that determine election results.
Not in Florida. We can go with a guaranteed loser in Trump or take a chance with someone else.
Exactly!
Afraid so.
