Shocking video captured the moment a quick-thinking Long Island cop used his police vehicle to sideswipe a woman who was waving a gun in the street.
Police responded to a report of a woman firing a gun into the air at the intersection of Bellmore and Jerusalem avenues in North Bellmore around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
Footage of the incident, posted on Reddit, shows the woman holding the handgun and threateningly pointing it at other cars as she walks across the road.
At one point she even holds the gun to her own head, the video shows.
Suddenly, tires can be heard screeching and a Nassau Police cruiser flies into the frame.

If the squad was built like a 1956 Buick Roadmaster, the officer could just do a head-on and not worry about damage to the squad car and the department’s budget. Just sayin...
Reportedly, before the video began, someone dropped her off in that area where she began trying to carjack people.

I don’t know how recent it happened, but I saw a video where a dude comes around a corner out of control.
He crashes, gets out running, while shooting at the cops.
Cop car tags him at around 30 mph and he goes through the air.
Second cop car tries to brake, but runs the dude over.
No trial, no probation, happy ending.
Guessing her urine drug screen was positive for more than one mind altering potion.

Bellmore is a very pretty area and is not cheap (even by NY standards). My grandparents lived there; my brother has a home there.
She needed to take her gangsta attitude elsewhere.

Long Island cops are Irish and Italian badasses and don’t tolerate this crap like they do in Portland.

LIRR travels along Sunrise Highway, which is a few miles south.
I believe there is a bus line that runs near there. Public transportation was minimal back when I was young. Things may have changed.
Sorry, it’s been almost 30 years since I lived there and we all had cars.
My parents had a ‘69 Chevrolet Bel Air that we drove when we got our driver licenses. My best friend hydroplaned into the back of my car and her Chevette looked like an accordion. Her car was totaled (she was ok) and the police were proudly dusting off the paint and glass off of our chrome bumper that wasn’t even scratched.
That car was bulletproof!!!
It is surprising that nobody is promoting the idea of old-style real bumpers that would reduce damage from low-speed “bumps”. Especially with how little damage to an EV can cause the adjuster to total the vehicle after small bumps. It’s not like anybody seems to be worried about how much an EV weighs.
