Did the FBI do the right thing? Analyzing the raid that killed a man who threatened President Biden.

Criticism of the FBI’s killing of a Utah man who had made death threats against President Joe Biden on social media quickly made its way through far-right circles with some calling it an “assassination.” But law enforcement and legal experts say based on the information available the FBI’s actions were likely appropriate and justified given the man’s access to guns and the violent specificity of his threats, which went well beyond the bounds of free speech protections.“The First Amendment only goes so far. Not all speech is protected, and he crossed a line,” said Karl Schmae, a retired FBI supervisor and special agent who worked in the FBI’s Salt Lake City division for much of his 22 years of service, including as a supervisor of the domestic terrorism squad and 10 years on the SWAT team.

The issue at hand is NOT a free speech issue, and discribing what he said is inflammatory.

The question is: Were his actions at the moment before he was killed deserving of a deadly response?

My point - the man did nothing else, besides making stupid, inflamatory threats on line

He didn’t organize a group, he didn’t march down the street, he didn’t burn a Target store, he didn’t photograph himself, he didn’t write a book, he didn’t print literature, he didn’t steal, he didn’t transfer illegal money, he didn’t take drugs, he didn’t even jaywalk

And what is the penalty for speech that goes to far? Wouldn’t some sort of judicial process be involved? Where was this guy’s due process? The bring 100+ FBI at 6am, the guy was probably asleep. Then they spray him with bullets. I heard from people in Provo that he was a Vietnam Vet, very overweight, and liked I’m the community. Wake up people. The FB1 are the Stasis. And we pay for them.

They could have arrested him when he went to church. Flatten his tires in the parking lot and wait for him after the service. He might have had a handgun but pretty sure he would have left his long guns at home.

Would have worked, but they wanted the chance to be special ops heroes and use all their fancy extra special hero equipment and get the chance to let everyone know that Trump MAGA gun nuts are Dangeous and need to be eliminated for the common good.

His Son? He probably receives medicare or medicaid now but the taxpayers will be saddled with any additional costs. (Might be an asset spend down of any inheritance $s in his future too depending on the fathers estate plan.)

Let the punishment fit the crime.

But whatever the proper punishment is, it’s supposed to follow a trial and a conviction, not be summarily carried out before the guy ever sees the inside of a courtroom.

This is no longer the Wild West.

Trump cleared a broad range of EPA abuses. Unfortunately, Joe Biden signed a stack of EO's that undid almost everything that Trump did to stop the abuses. The Dems have piled on with the Green New Deal renamed the Inflation Reduction Act. Biden and the leftist bureaucrats are "all in" on the globalist World Economic Forum policies. It's treason codified in legislation. Many of us will live to endure the collapse of our nation. Others will make an early exit in a nuclear strike or more slowly via starvation. The slow motion train wreck seems inevitable.

If he crossed the line with speech, does that give the Feds a free hand to bust in on his home violently and gun him down if he flinches?

No, clearly not. It gives them the right to arrest him and put him on trial. Not to assassinate him.

What effort was made to arrest him without "going tactical". He was in the house alone, why not barricade the house at some distance and tell him to come out with his hands up?

You're completely clueless.

This election is about whether we are going to have a party that represents the people and conservatives or if are stuck with oligarchy controlled by donors and establishment politicians of both parties.

Trump is the ONLY viable Republican that is independent that will fight the corruption in DC and make the changes that are necessary to overcome some of the massive problems this country faces, problems the elite don't give a damn about solving because they only care about enriching themselves.

Anyone involved with sabotaging Trump is THE ENEMY. Cheney and her ilk are every bit as bad as Democrats.

Riddle me this:
If they surveilled the man for 5 months, the FBI had plenty of time to CALL him. Why didn’t they? If he doesn’t have a phone, send him a letter by certified mail, or contact him by email or online post. Discuss the laws he is breaking by publishing specific death threats against the POTUS, and no, free speech rights do not extend to specific threats to kill the President, supported by pics of yourself holding the means. Feel out his practical intentions versus his political bluster. Depending on how this goes, perhaps ask him to come in for an interview. If all that fails, THEN escalate.

Instead they planned and executed an armed dawn raid that was inherently dangerous to FBI personnel, the suspect, his family, and uninvolved neighbors.

WHY did the FBI select the expensive, troublesome, dangerous choice?
Did they consider the likely results before proceeding?
Did the local FBI office make the decisions on this, or were they instructed by DC?

Well, it kinda is the Wild West, with only one side being armed. The Wild West was lawless and we are now. Frontier justice.

Protection of law enforcement officers from harm seems always to quickly becomes the primary driver of tactical decisionmaking in situations like these, even well before the home is entered.

Did even one manful individual among all of the LEOs present give this guy a fair chance to come to grips with what was happening and choose to give himself up peacefully?

More devolution and societal/governmental decay that Trump will need to try to start reversing.

He’s only got four years. Can he just name his successor?

From the picture they had of the guy here this morning, the FBI ****ed up again. That guy was a walking heart attack. He couldn’t hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle.

Notice the pattern?

Your eyes see one thing - "stolen election", "fat old crippled guy".

At the same time, the Narrative engineers spread out across the Media and social media to tell you that you're not seeing what you're seeing about "elections" and fat crippled old guys: "baseless accusations", "unfounded", "false allegations", "unsubstantiated", "dangerous posts on social media", "not all speech is protected", "he crossed a line".

We have Narrative engineers right here on FR.

I've learned not to waste too much time with them, or with liars like the Friends of Biden Inc. dude that was quoted in the article snippet above.

The FBI doesn’t work like that. They go out, somebody dies. And it is not them.

FOR SURE! I want to see the body cams…ALL THE BODY CAMS. I suspect that wish will be UNFULFILLED. I further suspect that ANY video they do release will be strategically blurred out.

It could well be that this poor veteran was MURDERED because he HAD HIS CANE IN HIS POSSESSION and that GAVE THE FBI THE EXCUSE TO DO WHAT THEY WANTED…MURDER HIM.
