I think it does play into it. One the other hand it could
have played into Ron’s hands too. I think it’s reasoned
to think Ron would be very handy if Trump were to be
convicted somewhere along the line, but voters don’t seem
to see it that way.
I’ve seen some evidence the media is trying to trash Trump
based on the indictments rather than any conviction.
They downright lie about the most recent case. The jury
denied the rape charge, and then said he abused her, so
he had to pay her $500,000.
How did he abuse her? For twenty years she swore he had
raped her. Isn’t that defamation? She couldn’t prove it.
Should his supposed abuse rank about the same as her
claim of rape in public?
Imagine thinking he owed her half a million dollars.
This is why some women lie. They are assured of getting
something as a reward for doing it, especially if it’s
a billionaire.
Think you or I would be fined $500,000 twenty years down
the line for abusive behavior?
Trump is a walking target, as are all the other billionaires
out there.
It’s really Trump’s response to being indicted. No bending, no breaking. He fights for his rights and the rights of his countrymen
Trump would have the reins ready to turn over to him. He wouldn’t have had to fight the deep state if he would win 2024. Like here in Florida, Rick Scott had everything ready for him and a very friendly legislative branch etc.
The saddest part--the consultants will move and attach themselves to the next money teat. The donors are trying to woo Youngkin.
While 2024 is shaping up to be a very critical election, some thought has to be given to 2028. If Trump wins, and starts to reverse the damage, who would carry the standard? DeSantis pretty much flashed his butt at the electorate.
Yes, I agree.
Ron has done a good job as governor, but he was very fortunate
to have a legislature that agreed with him.
He was lucky to have good support when he ran for the office.
I’m not sure where he goes from here, to re-establish his
credentials after this.
I’m not seeing it as a Nixon moment currently.
Thanks. I think it goes beyond the money too. I think they
thought they had found a way to retire Trump. I don’t think
they were just pleased to see Ron possibly winning.
There are people out there who try to convince you they’re
your friend as they destroy your future career viability.
Yeah, they will probably convince another person or even a
few to jump in.
If they can, they may try to start a third party bid too.
Some of these folks hate Trump that much. They’ll walk
over glass to give Biden(Obama) another four years.
Ron did blow it > IMO.
So funny.
I agree. He’s still the best Republican governor right now.
***Instead, I’m Gary Hart minus the monkey business.***
ROTFLMAO
If only.
As always, pride goeth before the fall.
He would likely have joined the Trump administration in 2026 after his term as governor of Florida was up and run from that position of strength.
He still could, if he backs off, does a good job in delivering Florida to Trump next year, and does a good job finishing his term in Florida.
He will no longer be a threat to President Trump.

Good one!!!
Trump will get crushed by Biden in the general election.
Stop letting the Democrats Pick our candidates.
I don’t want to dump on DeSantis long term, but I don’t see
it. Maybe you’re right. We’ll see.
“Trump will get crushed by Biden in the general election.”

Dunno about “crushed”, but it will be uphill climb.
Now THAT is awesome!
President Trump is going to make the border a big issue. He's going to lean heavily on Greg Abbott in Texas (and possibly Ted Cruz, too), and he's going to need Florida to deal with the looming Cuban crisis with China.
IMHO, so far DeSantis hasn't landed any "mortal" blows against President Trump, at least not like Pence has if he follows through with testifying against Trump in court. DeSantis has been more of an annoyance, a disappointment, but he's redeemable if he gets on the right side of history and rehabilitates his image.

Well DeSantis is certainly flying into the wild blue yonder oblivious to the target.
