The United States has crashed out of the Women's World Cup after losing a dramatic penalty shootout against Sweden.
The Americans created most of the chances during the match – but were foiled at key moments by Swedish goalkeeper Zećira Mušović, who made crucial stops against Lindsey Horan and Alex Morgan.
The Swedes will play Japan in the Women’s World Cup quarterfinals on Friday.

No one cares.
This competition has never been about country representation. It is a group of women that competed as a team using the US moniker because they are required to be a citizen of a country that is competing. Their only represenation is for the opportunity to compete and is for them not the country.
If they wish to have a team that is not a country team, then they can’t because they are not going to be citizens of the team they play for and violates FIFA rules. So these professional players are just using the US to further their paychecks because without a citizenship country, they can’t compete. It’s all about the money and notoriety. So they are not about the patriotism. They are about themselves.
