Per the Constitution, all challenges to Electoral Ballots are handled by Congress, not the VP. Congress can reject any ballot for any reason.

The State Legislatures are in control before the ballots are actually delivered to Congress. Congress determines the validity of ballots after they are delivered to Congress.

The VP certifies that the ballots were counted correctly.

In 2016, VP Biden certified that there were 304 ballots for Trump and 227 for Hildebeast, and that the ballot counts were correct. Pence did the same thing in 2020, he certified that the ballot count of the ballots sitting in front of Congress was correct.

That’s all we and Trump wanted, an honest and fair examination of the terribly run and extremely dubious election that they were in such a hurry to foist on us. He wasn’t getting it at all, all he was getting was the middle finger from Washington. Trump wanted to appeal in the only constitutional way by protesting errant electors. It doesn’t matter whether it would have succeeded or not, he had every right to challenge them.

There is no provision anywhere in the Constitution that supports either of these statements.

The role of the joint session of Congress, in which the VP is the presiding officer (as President of the Senate), is to COUNT the electoral votes. That's it.

The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted.

That's a plain reading of the 12th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. There's no room for Congress to be "rejecting any ballot for any reason."

Thanks for your opinion. If the gist of your comment, at least as it can be understood, is correct, then there would not have been a need for the Jan6 "disruption" of the Special Congress.

There is no doubt a motivated Pence could have found a means by which to have the matter given further consideration and Constitutional measures brought to bear. There was certainly enough time in the process for such. It appears Pence and his legal advisors also believe that.

Candidate Donald Trump was steered by the ‘powers that be’ to accept Mike Pence as his vice president.  Pence recommended fellow Senator Hoosier Dan Coats to be Director of National Intelligence.  Coats blocked all declassification efforts.

• 2017 – Mike Pence takes down National Security Director Michael Flynn.  President Trump is under constant fire from the DOJ, FBI, IC and Robert Mueller et al, California hires Eric Holder to construct legal guidance for the motor-voter process. The beta test for ballot harvesting operations.
• 2018 – While 36 republican members of the House announce their departure, including Ron DeSantis (Gov run), the largest field of former intelligence community officials from the CIA and DoD are recruited by Democrats.  The 2018 midterm election results in Democrats retaking the House, California ballot harvesting (seeded by moter-voter rolls) results in massive republican losses in the days/weeks after election day.
