WaPo editor downplays Hillary Clinton's email scandal: Mostly 'cooking recipes and appointments'
Fox News ^ | 7/31/23 | Lindsay Kornick

There is "no similarity" between Hillary Clinton’s email scandal and Donald Trump’s classified document scandal, according to Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart.

Capehart addressed the comparison on Friday’s "PBS Newshour" in a panel with fellow Washington Post contributor Gary Abernathy discussing Trump’s ongoing legal issues. Host Geoff Bennett brought up the former secretary of state as both she and Trump have been accused of concealing classified information, but Capehart suggested that there was no "symmetry."

"[I]f we have learned anything from the four years of Donald Trump's presidency and his campaign leading up to it and the campaign to try to get reelected, he's the master of projection. Anything that he accuses someone else of doing, whether it's Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, you name them, he has either done it himself for real or would really like to do it," Capehart said.

He continued, "And what we're discovering now is that he has done all of the things he has accused Hillary Clinton of doing, actually done. The e-mails that they found on Secretary Clinton's server, a lot of them had to do with cooking recipes and appointments. None had to do with nuclear secrets and secrets about our allies. And you just can't — there's no parallel. There is no symmetry. There is no similarity at all."

Abernathy pointed out that former FBI Director James Comey revealed that there were several classified emails found on Clinton’s private server.

"Well, actually, Director Comey pointed out that a lot of her things that they found on her server were classified and probably were accessed by foreign agents," Abernathy said. "I mean, this is something they said probably happened. So we don't know if they were nuclear secrets. Of course, we don't know about all the ones that were deleted...

Well that sounds reasonable. So 25,000 emails about yoga, wedding plans, recipes (she cooks lol?), appointments, and only 5,000 doing shake downs, child trafficking, various criminal activities, so that’s ok. Got it. So as long as you DON’T kill the majority of people you meet in life, it’s ok the off the ones who get on your nerves. Criminality is only a matter of the ratio.

What amazes me is how can someone with a “full time” job find time to send 33,000 e-mail’s, and that’s just one server. OK they have staff but then the staff also spend all day just e-mailing? No wonder government doesn’t work.

I still laugh at the cooking recipe thing. There is zero chance that Hillary cooks anything. She has minions for that. There is the possibility that when she says cooking recipes, that she actually means recipes for cooking the books at one of her businesses.

Obviously "herself" and her minions were abusing email and using it for psuedo-texting. Probably besause they wanted no records.

Wiped? You mean like with a cloth?

None had to do with nuclear secrets and secrets about our allies.

There's a wide spectrum of classified material that doesn't involve nuclear secrets or secrets of our allies.

Think about it. If Hillary wasn’t up to no good in this, she would have buried their discovery efforts with 300,000 emails on cooking recipes and yoga appointments.

Another case of the media asserting a ‘fact’ that they cannot know. Did they read the emails Hillary deleted? Of course not. So asserting they were ‘recipes’ is a lie, it’s just repeating what D’s would like the narrative to be, although without actually examining them they can’t actually know.

Pure propaganda.

How the hell would the washington post know what was in 30,000 destroyed emails? Either they are mind readers or they just took clinton’s word for it.

Can someone please show for me how having sensitive information in a personal unprotected computer, there’s no sure fire way to do that as they are attacked all the time from all over the world that is attached to civilian lines, and having sensitive documents in a house that contains a scif, a locked storage area that the money to remove it won’t happen so it will stay with the property, is any different from each other. Trump gets searched and prosecuted, Hilary and cowboy Joe don’t even get a hard look.

The Trump Hater, little Jonathan Capehart is known for his/her expertise about cooking recipes and Clinton appointments. He can identify them in a heartbeat when he sees one.

Really???

Has Hillary Clinton EVER cooked a meal -herself, IN HER FREAKING LIFE???

..and they expect us to swallow this clump of horse manure????

She is a lifelong CRIMINAL. Charles Manson had fewer people killed… and he never stole millions of taxpayer dollars either.

THIS - is our elites; our politicians; our deep state - RUBBING OUR NOSES IN IT.

“Yes, we CAN prosecute who WE choose to prosecute and exonerate who WE choose to exonerate… and there’s NOTHING THAT YOU LITTLE PEOPLE CAN DO ABOUT IT..”. - All with a snarky smile on their face.

They KNOW the ‘facts’ have changed awkwardly.. “What are YOU gonna do about it, peasant?…”

Notice how they say “Mostly” It’s the others we want to know about. And if that’s all there is, why did you destroy them?

So, this WaPo editor saw the 30,000 or so deleted emails and is able to give us a summary of the subjects covered?
