By the way, we left Japan (and Germany) in much better shape then our supposed ally the U.K.

The U.K. did not end World War II until July, 1945. (Although cheese viability for decades more.) Coal rationing didn't end until July, 1958. By 1967, Japan's GDP was 11% higher than the U.K.

Japan (and Germany's) economy took off, while the U.K.'s was never the same.

The U.K. didn't finish paying off it's wartime debt to the U.S. until I think 2004.

I knew a WWII vet who was stationed on Tinian and when he was alone in the jungle, he fought a Japanese soldier and in so doing, he won by bayonetting him to death. He told me that even though he had to do it, it still haunted him until he died in his late 90's.

HE told me another story, he watched them load Little Boy aboard the Enola Gay. He did not know what was going on but he knew it was something very big. When Colonial Tibbets came back, he also served him in the officer's club and Tibbets kept saying over and over, "my God, what have we done?"

Good points. I think the reason for the mess we are in today or at least a huge part of it was WWII. Because Hitler and the Nazis along with their Axis allies took nationalism and love of country so to the extreme, it really helped the left get a lot more traction to the point with all of this woke stuff today although it had its origins before that. It's a shame you had European fighting Europeans (and yes, I mean Russians and other Whites too, although I don't belittle other people or races, I just hate the part where the Whites are always picked on) and I think with both WWI and WWII help cause a lot of this. WWI was the stupidest of the major wars, it was basically ended up being a royal family fight with the average citizens of both side paying for it. We lost a lot of our good people in WWI. If WWII did not happen, I think we could of taken that hit and survive. WWII was basically the continuation of WWI where the Entente was so vengeful on Germany, they imposed conditions and reparation's so punitive that no way Germany could fulfill them and it was so bad, the people anted a strongman to fix things and there you are.

I think in a month's time, we could have scrounged enough for a third one but beyond that I don't know but who knows how things would have happed because I think the Soviet Union would have made some gains where all things could have changed.

The Japanese routinely would rescue Allied sailors in order to interrogate them and then execute them. Their atrocities in China were so bad that even the Nazi Attache in Nanking tried to intervene . After the Doolittle raid the Imperial Army went mad in China and slaughtered thousands, destroying entire villages. Their military deserved nothing more than to be wiped out to a man.

Almost 50 years prior to WWII the Japanese military in the Russo-Japanese War & WWI were an honorable foe. Their treatment of Russian POWs was exemplary as was the few German & Austro-Hungarian POWs they had from WWI. There was international praise on the Japanese military’s behavior. I’ve never read a convincing historical study as to why this changed. Most I’ve read blame it on the racist attitudes of the West particularly at the post-WWI disarmament conferences where Japan was not treated as an equal ally. Maybe so, it still seems to me a too easy of an explanation. I find it inadequate.

Even today crackpots and various psychopaths believe than your genetics determine everything about your thinking and behavior as well as physical attributes. When this idiot theory gains traction the only “solution” to problems is to murder the “unfit”. Declare a race or even a political faction a mental disease and then concentration camps become a public service.
