As for what Russia would love, why should anybody who lives in a country that is a member of NATO care? Russia is barely a third of the size of the former Warsaw Pact in population, and NATO is today more than twice its former size. In GDP, the disparity is much greater.
And a fairly easy invasion, even with the condition of US forces. Calle Ocho in Miami- would be quite excited to re-instate all of their land titles stolen by Fidel. Not to mention the horror of FL hoteliers at the exodus to the totalitarian island paradise.
