A video showing a trio of female shoplifters targeting a Burlington store in California is gaining attention after highlighting their slow-motion getaway.
The brazen heist unfolded on Saturday at the discount retailer's North Freeway Boulevard location in Sacramento, where the three women were caught on camera trudging away with shopping carts loaded with stolen goods.
'D**n look at these people stealing! Say hi to the camera!' the bystander filming the incident can be heard saying, as alarms blared and the shoplifters piled mounds of clothing and shoes into the trunk of a red Dodge Charger.
The Sacramento Police Department told DailyMail.com in a statement that it is investigating the audacious caper.
'We are aware of the incident. Officers responded, a police report was generated and it is an active investigation,' the department said.
Investigators should have solid clues to propel their investigation, as the bystander video clearly shows the face of the getaway driver and the license plate of the car.
A copy of the video clip was shared by the Instagram account @ppv_tahoe on Thursday, where it has already received more than 16,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
The @ppv_tahoe account noted that in addition to audaciously looting the Burlington store, the three shoplifters had parked in a handicap spot without displaying a placard.
An employee at the Burlington store in Sacramento acknowledged awareness of the incident to DailyMail.com, but referred all questions to the company's corporate press department.
A spokeswoman for the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Headquartered in New Jersey, Burlington Stores operates more than 900 off-price retail locations across the country, and recorded $8.7 billion in net sales last year.

That wasn't shoplifting. Shoplifting is when you walk into a store, conceal one or two items under your clothing, then leave. When you roll a couple of shopping carts out of the store filled with stolen merchandise, it's not shoplifting, it's looting.

My wife is a manager at our local Meijers, has worked in the chain for 24 years now. She would have had fun with these cows. She is not allowed to physically touch them, but the carts are another matter.
She has had pushouts like this happen several times here, if the employees are watching them because their gut is saying they are going to do it, my wife strategically positions herself and waits. If they make a break for it she chases after them, then grabs the cart and flips it as hard as she can when she runs by, dumping everything across the drive in front of the store. she just keeps right on going while other employees step out to catcall the thieves and let them know they are being filmed. No one ever stops to pick the cart and goods up, they just dive into the getaway vehicle and leave. Once it was a nice piece of electronics that got damaged when she did it, she thought the store director would be upset about it but he later slipped her a $20 gift card normally given to appease cranky customers and told her officially not to do that, with a wink and a grin.
She always comes home with a huge smile whenever that happens.

If Burlington (and Lowe’s and others) don’t care, and fire people who try to do something, why would a cop bust his time getting there?

Multiple participants in a crime is also a criminal conspiracy.
As crime continues to rise and the Courts refuse to punish the criminals for their actions, law enforcement officers learn that it simply is not worth the risk to pursue or arrest the perps. Besides the waste of time in processing the paper work, the cops are at risk of arresting the “wrong” person or an arrest going sideways resulting in someone screaming “racism”.
Retail thefts on a large scale have become a business itself. Companies cannot continue to operate when all their profits simply walk out the door.
More and more businesses in these crime-ridden inner cities are going to move or simply close their doors altogether. The usual suspects will scream “racism” and “corporate greed”.
This acceptance and endorsement of criminal actions by all branches of our government cannot go on much longer. At some point the pendulum will swing the other way and I fear what is going to happen as that pendulum starts its journey. I believe the reversal will be instigated by the people themselves against the wishes of government. That is where the conflict will begin. The government and the people are at odds with each other and no longer have common goals. A nation in that situation has never endured for much longer once it has reached that point.
