Malia and Sasha Obama were spotted flying off of Martha's Vineyard on Tuesday after the tragic death of the family's private chef, Tafari Campbell.
Campbell, 45, died on Sunday in an accident on Great Edgartown Pond, a large but calm body of water that the Obamas' luxury pad sits on.
It remains unclear how exactly Tafari came to drown. He was a competent swimmer and the water where he was paddle boarding is mostly calm, though neighbors say it can be deceptive.
There was another paddle boarder on the water at the time, but they have not yet been identified.
Today, Malia and Sasha were quiet and polite towards airline staff as they made their way through the small island's airport. They have not yet commented on Tafari's tragic death.

I’m not aware of the Obamas ever living in Baltimore, or ‘outside’ of it - unless you consider DC, Hawaii, and Martha’s Vineyard ‘outside of Baltimore’.

No, I just mistakenly connected the Kalorama neighborhood to being a suburb of Baltimore.

Well, Baltimore is unfortunately becoming Chicago on the East Coast; so it would be an understandable mistake...
When I was bitty, I had a black nanny cum housekeeper. She was a lovely woman.
The names are Russian. Not remotely Indian, lol. Obama’s parents met in a college Russian language class.
We loved our Black nanny (she’d give us pablum absolutely FULL of sugar.)
She was enormous, and let us crawl all over her, she’d pick us up and turn us upside down, etc.
Later she lost a ton of weight and became the head of housekeeping at an important hospital here.
She sounds like a lovely woman! And your fond memories of her show that.
The chef for Clinton and Bush also drowned.

I disagree. I think the older one has the face and physique of Obama and the younger one somewhat like Michelle.
They’re rich, young adults. Who wants to hang around for that?
It of course could be just an accident. Or, could this be the 2024/Michelle version of the black gay males from Barry’s church who had to be offed before the 2008/Barack campaign?
