This week marked another terminal chapter in the candidacy of Ron DeSantis. New polling illustrates his continued descent in the 2024 GOP primary.
The campaign is virtually bankrupt, with nowhere to turn after a devastatingly low show of support amongst small dollar donors.
Yet, Ron refuses to accept reality.
Tallahassee’s consultants have read the writing on the wall—but their objective remains unchanged: milk as many dollars as possible.

(Huge tactical error to not wait until 2028.
He never should’ve listened to the Bushes, and Karl Rove.)
Don’t forget his wife!
Regarding "pretending," did you see my recent poll analysis on the South Carolina and Florida polls?
South Carolina poll analysis.
Florida and Florida addendum poll analysis.
Trump had three campaign runners in 2016.
Yes, he did. Trump made strategic changes to fit the needs of the moment.
Corey Lewandowski ran the Trump campaign during the primary season.
Trump replaced Lewandowski with Paul Manafort after the Cruz campaign began poaching delegates that Trump had won in the primaries. Trump needed a seasoned expert to carry the campaign through the convention.
After Trump secured the party nomination, he replaced Manafort with Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway to guide the campaign in the general election.
In 2020, Trump's first campaign manager was Brad Parscale, who was Trump's digital director. Trump replaced Parscale with Bill Stepien, who previously managed the Governor's campaign for Chris Christie.

I used to listen to Breitbart Radio a lot during my morning and afternoon commute on Sirius XM radio. I heard Kassam a lot and had no issues with him.
But you wouldn't know that because I don't talk about that. You just projected onto me what you thought my "appearance" was.
If you have followed my pieces on FR over the years, you'd know that I follow the data. Did you see my analysis of the Florida poll from the end of June? The link is up-thread.

The thing is we are assuming Trump will be nominee.
I think the RNC will not let Trump run in their party or there will be some other means to keep him from being nominee.
Thus these candidates who are way behind with no chance against Trump do have a chance for the nomination.
That has to be what they think.
“Huge tactical error to not wait until 2028.”
Agreed.
Chris “the whale” Christie has a chance of being the 2024 POTUS election winner?
Which, if DeSantis had half a brain, he would have known. He must have had a crapload of Trump haters whispering in his ear, building up his ego, selling him a bunch of crap, and he arrogantly believed them. Stick a fork in him, he's done in 2024, 2028 and beyond. I would never vote for the dope.
I agree.
I posted the same thing almost one year ago on July 27, 2022.

Which makes me wonder if that "conviction" as Governor was all for show, to get him where he hoped to go. He wouldn't be the first one to do that.
He previously served in Congress for two terms, and a partial third. He left to run for Governor. During his time in the House, Republicans were in control. He never served during a Democrat House majority. When the Democrats took over the House, DeSantis was already gone.
Thanks for the clarification. 👍
Yes, he’s done. Election integrity had to be killed off. Now no one to stop the steal.
True, but the day that Nixon selected Ford...you have to wonder who was stacking the deck, and preparing for a Democratic win in 1976. There were a couple of governors who were in a better position than Ford.
Raheem stood up for Tommy Robinson against the uk woke mob
He also gave us Natalie Winters for which i will be eternally grateful
Reagan’s speech at the national convention in 1976 pretty much showed without question the party establishment had picked the wrong guy, and 4 years later he was the nominee…

Yes, HamiltonJay, it's so true. It baffles me why the GOPEe donors to groom DeSantis for his Governor race and now this Presidential run.
Was it the Yale team baseball player connection to Herbert Walker Bush? Could be. It would be interesting to know how MANY politicians the Donors have in their rookie-politician farm team today.
DeSantis, at 44, is still a babe in the woods. Other than summer jobs, he's never really worked in the private sector! Yes, as you've said: he's a capable Administrator. But that's much easier when the legislator is owned by your Party.
Reagan and Trump, meanwhile, had massively successful careers way before they entered politics.
The Gipper was not just a top Hollywood actor, but an experienced sport announcer/commentator too -- and even led the Actor's Guild in Hollywood.
Before Trump ran in 2016, he had name recognition second to none as a rich and talented entrepreneur, best selling author, and TV star/producer of the Apprentice.
How will the donors change their strategy now that We the people of MAGA are onto their Uniparty game? It seems many Floridia FReepers liked what DeSantis accomplished but immediately lost trust in his Presidential run when they learned he's owned by the oligarchs.
2024 is critical for us. Trump has the smarts to set a course for destroying the Uniparty and the Deep State. It can't be done in only four years, but if we can change the tide on election integrity, the stage is set for new MAGA leadership after Trump serves his second term.
I like DeSantis, but yes, he should have just waited. It is clearly Trumps nomination. And I’m OK with that.
No hate, no name calling, just go Trump go!
Possible.
However, it would definitely guarantee a Democrat win
Not that I don’t believe the GOP both hate Trump and fear him that much at the same time.
Chris Crispy Cream chances of becoming POTUS , are about the same as I do of strolling around on the moon.
If he truly is in this much trouble right now, I’m convinced he would have been a loser in 2028, too.
He was given $10 million reasons to run in 24 by Rupert Murdoch.
His political career is pretty much over. MAGA voters are not going to vote for him in 28 now.
