GOV. GREITENS – Accept It, Already: DeSantis is Done.
Nationalpulse ^ | July 25, 2023 | Eric Greitens

This week marked another terminal chapter in the candidacy of Ron DeSantis. New polling illustrates his continued descent in the 2024 GOP primary.

The campaign is virtually bankrupt, with nowhere to turn after a devastatingly low show of support amongst small dollar donors.

Yet, Ron refuses to accept reality.

Tallahassee’s consultants have read the writing on the wall—but their objective remains unchanged: milk as many dollars as possible.

Huge tactical error to not wait until 2028.

He never should’ve listened to the Bushes, and Karl Rove.

"Yet, Ron refuses to accept reality."

It's not Ron - he's not in charge. It's his Wall Street backers who still think they can put one over on us.

“This week marked another terminal chapter in the candidacy of Ron DeSantis. New polling illustrates his continued descent in the 2024 GOP primary... Political maneuvering aside, this should serve as a beacon of hope—that the American people are tuned in and pissed off.”

AMEN!

I must remind everyone of the morbid history of American politics in which “sure thing” “guaranteed” outcomes abruptly ended for Lincoln, McKinley, JFK, Robert F. Kennedy and others. Evil within the electorate hasn’t ended, not at all.

May God protect Donald Trump.

Agree, the timing wasn't right, which puts in question DeSantis's political instincts. But Reagan won the 1980 GOP nomination after losing to Ford in 1976.

Overwhelmingly evident the reason DeSantis didnt stand up for Trump after the Mar-a-Lago sham, was his WH hopes rely solely on Trump getting nailed with a felony. Only chance he has and he’s always known it.

I have liked him as Gov but that soured me on him as a person.

Trump v. fake Trump Lite.

Spin a Bud Light bottle and see who is chosen.

I had to see who is behind The National Pulse, as it wasn't familiar to me.

It is the website run by Raheem Kassam, who used to be the London Bureau Chief for Breitbart until Steve Bannon left.

Since Kassam is a disciple of Bannon, I must assume that The National Pulse is a pro-Trump website?

I don't mind reading advocacy pieces as long as I know the leanings of the sources.

I don’t mind DeSantis entering the game, but his tethers to the Establishment is his greatest liability.

DeSantis must make a sharp departure from his current campaign and learn to honestly praise Trump. DeSantis’ would be a welcome candidate if he simply demonstrated the same practical conviction he maintained as FL’s gov.

Thank you for that excellent comment (the whole thing, and especially the part referenced here). I am 100% in alignment.

Ford was a “never was” candidate at the top of the ticket.

Reagan by contrast had mojo and a message.

The writer was Missouri governor for about two seconds and resigned in a sex scandal. He had been a Republican for about five seconds. <p

You shouldn’t pretend DeSantis isn’t struggling. You don’t shake up a campaign that is running smoothly. Trump had three campaign runners in 2016. I don’t even know who ran 2020 but that was a fiasco. Did his digital guy ever recover mentally?

Yup. Impatient and impetuous. He shoulda worked for The Donald for a few years, learned Washington, and foreign policy. Would have been set up for a killer in 2028. It’s a shame.

national pulse articles are posted here frequently.

Kassam is pro Trump, pro conservative, what ever you want to call him, no matter how it appears you try to make a dig at him and the site.

Comparing Desantis to Reagan is laughable

Regan’s speech at the national convention in 76, pretty much showed without question the party establishment had picked the wrong guy, and 4 years late he was the nominee…

Desantis has no grand moment ahead of him, he was foolish to be played like he was, but he let it happen and he has almost certainly ruined any shot at national elected office going forward.

He took himself from almost certainly a top tier candidate, if not the front runner for 2028, to zero chance of national elected office. He showed himself to be a shill for the establishment and captive to their money men… MAGA wing will no longer accept him, He’s not only done for 2024.. but much like Rubio and Cruz did in 16, he’s destroyed any shot at national elected office.
